53. Dealing With The Hooligans

Sitting on a large couch, Heidi’s eyes roamed around the large spacious living room. The morning light streamed through the curtains, cascading her delicate features in a soft glow.

As her innocence-filled wide eyes wandered around, the masked men, who were standing in every corner of the room, stared at her cautiously.

They gathered in one place and started whispering.

“Maybe we should cover her eyes with something. I’m tired of wearing this mask,” said one of them.

“She doesn’t appear fearful. Is she up to something?” Another one pondered.

“I wonder if she suspects who we are. If it was some other girl, she would be trembling in fear of being kidnapped by people like us.”

“Too bad, the Master hasn’t given any instructions yet. I really think we should get rid of her,” the last guy, who had been silent, spoke up.

The other guys stared at him at the same time.

“Are you crazy? Why do you keep bringing that up? If we get rid of her, what do you think the Young Master will do?”

The other guy scratched his head, looking discontent. Before Ms. Carlson could take back her credit card, he really hoped he could spend as much money as he could.

Since he got no order from her again, he was afraid she might want to cancel his mission.

“Gentlemen, I’m hungry. Is there something for me to eat?” Heidi walked up to them, startling the guys.

They all dispersed quickly, giving her wary looks, and glancing at their partners.

“There’s no food. Go away,” One of them, who appeared to be their leader, said sternly. Heidi held her stomach, putting on a pained look. “Sigh! Not long ago, I visited Grandpa Winston and made some pastries.”

She licked her lips. “If only I could eat something similar. Oh, that day was a bliss. Even the bodyguards at the Olsens Mansion couldn’t resist my pastries. They wiped the plates clean and praised me all day.”

The masked men started salivating immediately, thinking back to those mouthwatering pastries.

One’s stomach grumbled, and another one coughed in embarrassment.

After hesitating for a while, their leader spoke up.

“As I’ve told you, there’s no food in the house. However, there are ingredients in the kitchen, so…”

“Great! Please show me the way to the kitchen.” Heidi clapped, her eyes dancing with excitement.

“You, follow her.” He gestured to one of them, then faced Heidi. “Make sure you prepare plenty of it.”

The guys couldn’t deny that they were starving after not eating for a complete day.

The other guy led the way, and Heidi followed.

After their figures disappeared in the kitchen’s direction, one of them approached the leader. “I can’t wait to taste those pastries again.”

“It is strange, though.” Another one approached. “Why would she bring up that incident? Do you think she knows our identities?”

“I don’t think the former Young Miss is that intelligent. She was just blowing her trumpet,” the leader answered nonchalantly, thinking…

She was just stupid. She didn’t even mind that she was kidnapped.

Inside the Kitchen.

Heidi layered the ingredients on the kitchen’s island, chatting her heart out.

“Every day, my Grandma would feed me this. Grandma was so sweet while she was alive, she made me fall in love with these pastries.”

While the guy stood like a statue, she busied herself with working and chattering.

“Grandma was so cruel. I promised to go on a vacation with her once the school’s term ended. Do you know how hard it is to attend a boarding school? When I returned, can you imagine my heartbreak after finding out that Grandma was gone?”

The guy’s expression remained blank.

Heidi threw him a cautious glance then continued in her lamenting.

Several minutes passed by.

The guy’s expression finally shifted when an enticing aroma wafted in the air.

“Wow, this turned out better than I expected.” Heidi layered the pastries on several plates.

She picked one for herself while he delivered the rest outside.

On the wide dining table, they all sat down to enjoy the food.

Each guy was literally rubbing his palms together, ready to dig in. Heidi sat on the head chair and clicked the spoon against her plate, dragging their attention.

“Gentlemen…” she smiled. “Don’t you think it’s better we enjoy these delicacies with fine wine?”

The guys looked at each other, and their leader said, “There’s no wine.”

“I don’t believe so.” Heidi put on a baffled look. “This house is so big, I’m sure there’s a wine cellar hidden somewhere. Come on, guys. I worked hard to prepare these pastries, let’s not put them to shame.”

The bodyguards exchanged glances again.

Of course, there was a big wine cellar in the basement.

But this house, and everything in it, belonged to their master.

Well, Blake Harrison never even came here. So their leader shrugged, and ordered, “Go bring in the wines. We definitely can’t miss the heavenly feeling.”

Three of the masked men stood up and left. Then they returned later with several bottles of wine. Without wasting time, they started eating like hungry beasts.

Heidi ate some of the pastry on her plate, and she watched them keenly, slowly sipping a small portion of the wine.

In no time, the guys had chugged down several bottles of wine. Sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ Find_Nøvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Their thirst was unquenchable, and they demanded several more bottles.

Heidi ended up folding her hands, and leaning back on her chair, watching them make a mess of the table.

After some time, the chaos died down.

One by one, their head dropped on the table, each making a crashing noise.

Their eyelids dropped, and their snores echoed in the loud space.

Heidi let out a dark chuckle, her lips curling into a smirk.
