Chapter 74

Noah and Indie spent the morning getting to know each other completely and they both learned a great deal about the other. Their love making was punctuated by giggles and enjoyment of each other’s company.

Indie lay wrapped in Noah’s arms, she stared up at him lovingly as she gave another chuckle. Her naked skin against his felt like the finest silk. Noah kissed her forehead and moved, “you should get some sleep. It’s going to be a long night tonight,” he mumbled as he pulled his arm out from under Indie and sat up.

“Where are you going?” She asked. A little annoyed by his sudden movement.

“I’ve got to go make sure things are moving along. If you want to why don’t you go see Hunter? I’m sure your family would love the visit?” Noah smiled gently as he looked back at his mate, he saw the concern and sorrow in her face that only made him move back and comfort her. “I’m sure your family will understand Indie. Come on, we’ll go shower and then I’ll walk you down to the infirmary.” He offered quickly.

With a slight nod Noah jumped up and onto his feet as he scooped Indie up and threw her over his shoulder. She squealed and giggled as she reached down to slap his ass. “Didn’t I destroy the infirmary?” She questioned him as she remembered fragments of her wild rampage.

“There’s another wing,” Noah responded quickly as the walked them both to the bathroom. “By the way, you know how you were so eager for a job? I’ve found one for you,” he chuckled as he placed her on the floor.

“I don’t like the sound of this,” Indie groaned of course there was another wing to the infirmary. Noah turned the taps in the shower and held his hand under the sudden stream of water till it warmed slightly. “You can work in the infirmary under Doctor Cassia Branwen. One of her nurses has gone on maternity leave and she’d be thankful for the help.” Noah waited for Indie to step closer before he took her around the waist and pulled her into the shower. “It wouldn’t be serious work but we could also train you as a healer if you’d like? That way you will always have a job and something to do.” He grinned as warm droplets of water washed over them. “I would love to keep you as my see slave but I am rather worn out,” he smiled and leaned down to press his lips against her cheek.

Indie smiled as she leaned back into him and felt his hand move from its resting spot on her stomach down to her now sensitive and engorged clitoris, he began rubbing circles that immediately sent her into a frenzy.

The pair spent longer than they should have in the shower, touching, teasing and playing but soon both were dressed and heading towards the infirmary. Indie fidgeted and Noah walked with all the co fierce in the world. Though he had lost all of his family there was no way anyone would have known just by the look of him.

He pushed open the door to the infirmary and ushered a nervous Indie inside. As soon as her foot so much as touched the floor she felt all eyes on her. She looked up and saw Madeline storming towards her. Rita sat next to Hunters bed. “Madeline stop,” Hunters voice called to his mate as she turned back towards him and stopped.

“But Hunter, honey pie she could have killed you!” Madeline argued as she turned to Indie with a seething look of hatred pressed firmly against her features.

“But she didn’t!” Hunter growled quickly. “I’m fine and you are over reacting.” Indie knew her brother well and he would have said anything to keep Madeline from going mental, he also would not have let on just how badly he was hurting. He hated the fuss.

Madeline was conflicted over what to do but in a huff she stormed back towards Hunter and sat in her seat with a thump.

Noah directed Indie towards a another person in the room, a dark skinned woman with thick, dark hair. She had a slight frame and was quite thin for a werewolf. She wore a white doctors coat with a stethoscope slung around her neck. As she heard the pair approaches she looked up at Noah and smiled, “Master Noah, what a pleasant surprise.” the pair shook hands as Noah stepped to the side.

“Doc, I want you to meet Indie. She has agreed to help you while Ylva is away on maternity leave.” Indie couldn’t help but notice how beautiful Cassia was, she had large eyes and a nice face, she looked warm and friendly, wise and knowledgeable.

Immediately Cassia stuck her hand out at Indie and greeted her with great joy and enthusiasm. “Oh yes! Miss Indie it would be wonderful to have you on our with us. I know you could learn a lot down at the hospital but we specialise in natural remedies for our kind.” She put her hand up as if to whisper to Indie,“but we also haven’t strong stuff for if shit hits the fan,” she chuckled.

Indie found it hard to keep a straight face. “Well I should leave you here. I have a lot to catch up on,” Noah kissed Indies cheek quickly before ducking off.

“Okay Miss Indie, if you want to return bright and early in the morning we will start cleaning up the mess hurricane wolfenstein created next door.” she chuckled at her words and shook her head, “I am so witty sometimes,” Indie cringed as Cassia snorted loudly. “Wolfenstein. That is gold.” She mumbled as she returned her attention to what she had been working on before being interrupted.

At a loss for words for what she had just seen and heard Indies turned back to her brother, “come on Maddie. We’ll let these two talk,.” To Indies surprise Madeline began arguing with Rita until Rita gave her a sharp look at stopped the fiery Madeline mid sentence.

Rita walked to her daughter and kissed her forehead, “I’m sorry for my reaction but you scared the absolute shit out of me Indie.” It seemed she scared anyone that saw or heard about her beastly wolf.

India nodded, she understood the fear her mother must have felt and although she didn’t like the reaction she understood. Rita kissed her daughter’s cheek and ushered Madeline out of the room.

Silence fell heavy through the entire length of the room, Doctor Cassia moved about silently, the only indication she was still there came with the soft shuffle of papers or a tired sigh. Hunter and Indie stared at each other for a long time before either of them spoke.

It was Hunter that spoke first as a smile broke across his lips, it soon turned to a chuckle. A wince of pain soon ripped through his body. “Take is easy Hunter the munter, your body is still broken honey.” India turned back and saw Doctor Branwen looking at them with a lopsided grin. Her attention was soon diverted when she walked briskly out of the room.

“She’s interesting,” Indie mumbled quietly.

“She’s hilarious. Hunter the munter,” he chuckled at the doctor’s words, “classic.” An awkward silence fell as Indie averted her attention, she was trying to figure out how best to apologise to her brother. She could have killed him.

“You don’t have to feel guilty Indie,” her brother smiled up at her as he reached out.to hold her hand. “I know you haven’t shifted in a while...” his sentence trailed off as he thought back to the enormous beast he and Madeline had encountered and it made him shower with fear. “I mean I wasn’t expecting how huge your wolf was or how twisted and shit it would be but I don’t blame you and I don’t hate you.”

Indie couldn’t help but grin, she had the most understanding brother in the world and for that she was thankful. “But Madeline is going to hate me forever!” Indie couldn’t help but exclaim.

Hunter scoffed, then he laughed, then he winced in pain. “When have you ever cared what Madeline has thought of you? If you walk around scared of your wolf all the time she will have no problems walking all over you and asserting her dominance.” It was something Indie hadn’t given too much thought. “others would be the same I’m sure. Show them who is queen Indie. Show Madeline why you should be queen.”

A small smile soon turned to a smirk as it lingered at the corner of Indies lips, “but she’s your mate?”

He shrugged his shoulders and grinned, “yeah that’s true but I don’t want her to think she has any right to challenge you. I don’t want to leave home to come live here. I rather enjoy the peace and quiet of Aspen.”

Shaking her head Indie chuckled at her brothers selfishness, “of course you’d say something like that.” She soon turned serious as the guilt she had initially felt came back. “I am sorry though. I don’t even really remember doing it but I know I hurt you.” Her memories while in wolf form were still a little fragmented but she knew enough to know she had done wrong. “I will get control of my wolf eventually it’s just really strong.”

Indie had a lot to learn about her wolf, she had a lot to learn about her new environment and the people within and she hoped it wasn’t too late.

The pair laughed and reminisced for an hour before Indie excused herself. She wandered off to find Noah or someone else she could help.
