There was a hint of sadness in Jonathan’s eyes because he knew that a temporary stay didn’t mean permanent accompanying.
Jonathan’s cold hand made Summer feel sad too.
Although Summer had witnessed the fact, she couldn’t believe the one who was powerful in the business circle became a weak old man here.
She felt sorry for Jonathan.
Jonathan seemed to be gentler when he saw concern in Summer’s eyes.
“Don’t worry. I’m still strong enough.” Jonathan smiled. “I’ll be fine.”
The words didn’t make Summer feel better. She turned around to wipe her tears.
At that time, Alick came in with Sanford.
“Grandpa, Sanford is here.”
Jonathan was very happy to see Sanford, so he waved his hand at Sanford. “What a lovely kid. Come to me and let me have a look.”
Sanford was well-behaved, and he walked to Jonathan. He didn’t know why Jonathan was crying.
“Have you cried? Great-Grandpa.”
“Why did I cry?” Jonathan laughed. “I am so happy to see your mother.”
Sanford raised his head to see Summer, whose eyes were also with tears. He nodded and seemed to understand the situation.

Both Jonathan and Alick were surprised by the remark. They couldn’t believe what they had heard.

She told Sanford about what she knew about Jonathan and asked Sanford to be well- behaved when they saw Jonathan.
Summer didn’t expect that Sanford would listen to her words.
Besides, Sanford called her mum just now.
Summer was so happy that she almost cried.
“Very well. I will do as you said. And I promise to keep my health.” Jonathan touched Sanford’s head with great love in his eyes.
The steward pushed the wheelchair to the lobby to meet guests.
“Grandpa, I’ll go to welcome the guests.”
Jonathan said gently, “Just go. Summer and Sanford will stay with me.”
Most of the guests who came to the birthday banquet were important. And most of them came because of Alick’s status. So Alick needed to show some respect to them.
Jonathan had met his old friends, so he didn’t have to meet others who would bother Jonathan’s rest.
“I haven’t heard a musical in years, so I’m looking forward to it.”
The last time Jonathan heard a musical was years ago. And his sickness caused him to spend his time on treatment. So he was very excited to hear it again.
“I wonder so much about which piece of music the troupe will perform this time…”
“Don’t worry. The troupe is famous abroad.” Summer said softly, “So it won’t disappoint you whatever it will play.”
Jonathan smiled. “I can’t wait.”
Jonathan’s appearance drew a lot of attention from the guests. Some of the guests noticed Summer, who was talking happily with Jonathan. And they wondered about Summer’s identity.
“Who is she? Jonathan seems to like her.”
“Is the little boy… The pearl of the Hill family?”
The guests put on different expressions.

But they all felt that Summer was not a simple woman because she could get along with Jonathan and Sanford, who were hard to get along with.
Joan also saw Summer. She experienced a dramatic change in her mood. At first, she felt shocked. Then the thing she could only feel was hatred.
Joan wondered why Alick allowed Summer to come to the banquet. Summer’s appearance might be regarded as a sign of danger.
She thought it must be Jonathan who let Summer come.
Joan couldn’t suppress her anger. And her face was darkened.
“Nice to see you here, Miss Taylor.”
Someone recognized Joan and tried to talk to her.
“Why don’t you stay with Mr. Hill?”
The relationship between Joan and Alick had never been a secret. They always appeared together in public these years. And Joan regarded herself as the future madam of the Hill family.
But the madam of the Hill family shouldn’t sit with the guests. It was humiliating for her.
“Alick is busy now. But he will come for me later.”
Joan tried to comfort herself by thinking that Alick would come to explain to her about
Summer’s appearance when Alick finished welcoming the guests.
“How sweet you are. It is no wonder that you have remained in a good relationship with Mr. Hill all these years.”
The speaker glanced at Alick who was sitting beside Jonathan. His words were full of sarcasm. Then the speaker turned to look at Joan with more disdain.
Joan’s face was flushed because she felt humiliated. But she just smiled at the speaker.
The Taylor family was not wealthy in Landom City. Joan got better business for her family by using the relationship with Alick. The speaker just now was the wife of the president of a big company.
Joan couldn’t afford to offend the lady.

Guests continued to talk about Summer. They were stunned as they saw Sanford eating a piece of fruit given by Summer.
“Didn’t the kid have a morbid fear of getting dirty?”
Guests looked at each other with curiosity.
“That woman feels familiar to me…”
The guest seemed to remember something because he got more excited. “Oh, remember her.”
Jonathan took Summer to several charity banquets. Although Summer kept a low profile at those banquets, someone happened to see and remember her.
“What? She is the dead ex of Mr. Hill? How is that possible?”
Everyone in Landom City knew that Alick’s wife died from childbirth. So the guests. thought a dead woman couldn’t be alive again.
But the guest who just talked seemed pretty sure about it. And Summer seemed to be close to Jonathan and Sanford. So other guests had no reason to doubt the guest.
They began to regard Joan as a fake madam of the Hill family because the legal wife of Alick was back from the dead.
“What are you looking at?”
Joan felt embarrassed as she received strange glances from the guests.
She couldn’t sit any longer, so she stood up and left angrily.
“Why is that woman here? I don’t want to see her.” Jonathan was attracted by the noise among the guests. And he looked at Joan with disdain.
Alick explained immediately, “The Taylor family is doing business with us. So she is on the guest list.”
Jonathan responded with a hum. He didn’t care anything about the Taylor family. All he knew was that he would show no mercy if Joan dared to mess up the banquet.
Joan made Summer have difficulties giving birth to the children who had been…
Jonathan got angry whenever he thought about the thing.
“Grandpa, I need to leave for a minute.”

Bill came to whisper in Alick’s ears just now. Jonathan knew it must be Joan who asked
Bill to deliver a message to Alick.
“Summer, what are you thinking?”
