I've been here for three weeks and I loved it here.

Shirley and I have been training Iris every day.

Shirley specialised in healing magic so she trained Iris in healing with magic while I specialised in combat magic so I trained her in fighting with magic.

The Elders had a lot of ancient spell books that contained spells that I hadn't even heard of so while she was training, I tried new spells.

She was a really fast learner so we were moving really fast.

Training hours were the only time we spent together. I avoided her every other time. I have a major crush on her and I get tongue tied any time I tried to have a normal conversation with her.

Today, she was training with Shirley and she was doing wonderful.

" Good job Iris." Shirley commended.

" Thanks." Iris replied smiling.

" Keep going but don't wear yourself out okay?"

" Okay."

Shirley walked over to where I was hiding and stopped.

" What are you doing here Seb?"

I came out of my hiding spot and smiled.

" Hey sis!, What are you also doing here?" I asked and she raised an eyebrow.

" Really?, You're asking what I'm doing here, with Iris doing our training hours?" She asked and I shrugged.

" Wait!, Were you watching her?" She asked grinning and I rolled my eyes.

" No I wasn't. I was just passing through but I didn't want to disturb you so I hid myself." I said and Shirley smirked.

" Sureeee."

" Just admit it."

" Admit what?"

" That you like her."

" Okay you're being ridiculous."

" You like her!, My big brother has a crush on-"

I cut her off by casting a silence spell on her. She glared at me in return because that was one of the spells she hadn't mastered yet.

" Okay if I reverse the spell, promise me you'll be quiet."

She nodded and I reversed the spell.

" What's going on here?" Iris asked as she teleported over.

" Oh nothing, Seb was just passing through and he decided to say hi."

" Hey!" I greeted and her eyes widened in suprise. This was the first time I greeted her first.

" Hey!" She replied.

" You know what Seb actually wanted to ask you something?"

" He did?"

" I did?"

" You are so forgetful!, He wanted to ask you if you would like to go out with him. Tomorrow. To town, as a reward for your hard work. I would've followed you but I'm going to be busy tomorrow."

" Okay sure." Iris replied and my eyes widened.

" C-c-cool."

" What time?"

" Uhm, 4pm?"

" Okay. Well I'll leave you two. I have to get back to training." She said walking away.

" You're welcome."

" You shouldn't have done that!, What if she said no!"

" But she didn't." Shirley retorted smirking.

" I'm going to get you back." I said walking off.

" Okay. You can do this Seb. It's just a date. Wait!, Does she know it's a date. You know what I am not going to call it a date. I can do this."

I put took the car keys that I had borrowed from Elder Horace and also took my wallet and walked downstairs to the entrance of the castle where Iris was already waiting for me.

" I'm sorry for keeping you waiting." I said and she smiled.

" You didn't. I got here early." She replied.

She wore a white shirt and boyfriend jeans with sneakers and her hair was pulled into a ponytail.

" Hey!, We match!" She exclaimed pointing to my white shirt and sneakers and I laughed.

" Let's get going."

We finished our meal at a diner when a group walked in and Iris tensed.

" Are you okay?" I asked and she nodded.

" Something is off about them. They're magicians."

" How are so sure?"

" You know the way Spiderman has spidy sense?" She asked and I nodded.

" I have mine too."

I felt a wave of magic pass through the diner and I looked around us and all the mortals were frozen in time.

She was right.

" Well well well, look who we have here. If it isn't Sebastien Romero." The leader of the group said. I looked up and saw my former best friend, Josh.

Of course it's him.

" And who is this pretty lady?" He asked smirking at Iris but she ignored him.

" Do you know him?" Iris asked me.

" Unfortunately. He was my best friend and he was also one of the people who left me at the mercy of the Griffins." I spat.

" You call it betrayal, I call it survival. And you're still alive aren't you?"

" I'm only alive because of the group of shifters that saved me."

" So you're on their side now."

" This is where he belongs." Iris said standing up and looking Josh in the eye

Which was kind of hard because he was at least 6 inches taller than her.

" I wouldn't do that if I were you little girl. I'm way stronger than you are." He said and Iris chuckled.

" You want me to prove it?"

" Why not?" Iris challenged.

" 2 against 6 is not a fair fight. But I've never been fair so let's do it."

I stood up and stood next to Iris.

" Think they should know?" She asked.

" Let the fight begin." Josh said smirking.

We spilt up and started fighting. Iris took on 4 people and I took Josh and another one of his allies. He punched me and I stumbled back while Iris punched a guy and he fell. I twisted Josh's arm and threw him against the table and Iris used air to push him against the wall.

Another one of his friends tried to sneak up on Iris but I caught him and cast a spell that made him motionless.

The other 3 charged towards us but I teleported behind them and Iris froze them.

Josh managed to get up and he started laughing like a maniac.

" I see you've gotten pretty good Seb." Josh said and paused.

" But you'll never be able to beat me." He said and hit me with a magical force that was so fast I didn't see it coming.

He teleported behind Iris and held a knife to her neck.

I managed to stand up and I chuckled.

" Your problem Josh is that you're over confident. You don't know when to back down even when dealing with somebody who is way more powerful than you."

" You think you're more powerful than me?" He chuckled and I smirked.

" I never said I was."

He jumped back dropping his knife and Iris smiled.

" You felt the sparks ?" Iris said then she laughed.

" Literally."

" How did you do that?!"

" You mean this?" She asked shooting some bolts of electricity at his feet and he jumped up.

" You chose a wrong day to wear those silver chains." She said smirking and he gulped. Iris moved and he moved back. He tripped and fell.

Iris held him up by his collar and spoke in a low tone.

" Have you heard of La Muerte?" She asked and he nodded.

" Use your words."

" Yes!, She's the supernatural that kills Magicians. But nobody knows who she really is."

" I'm La Muerte." Iris said and he gulped.

" If I wasn't in such a good mood I would have killed you. But I'm going to leave you with a warning. The next time I see you or any of your friends terrorising mortals, I will cut you into shreds and use your intestines as a jump rope. Am I understood?"

He nodded and she sneered.

" Use your words."

" Yes ma'am." She released him and he scurried away from her.

I'll admit that she scared me a little.

She defrosted the ice around his other friends and Josh told them that they had to leave. As they were about to leave, one of his friends turned and sent a magical ball towards Iris while her back was turned.

Iris turned around instantly and stopped the ball. She played with it a little then spoke.

" Augere, Megéthynsi."

Then she sent the ball back with much more power that it had earlier. It hit him and he fell down groaning in pain. They stared at Iris with wide eyes and she growled barering her canines that had extended at them.

They seemed to have realised that she was the Elysian and ran off.

Iris and I were cleaning up the mess we had made during the fight in silence.

" This is not how I wanted the date to end." I mumbled under my breath.

" This was a date?" She asked tucking a strand of hair behind her hair.

" Uh yeah. Well- I, uhm. I mean if you want it to be that's cool. I should stop talking now."

Great!, I made a fool out of myself in front of my crush.

" It's fine really. I wasn't sure if this was a date that's why I dressed so casually. If I knew I might have worn flats." She said rocking on her heels and I smiled.

" You look beautiful anyway." I said and she blushed.

" That day at the diner, we were attacked by some magicians. We won but we let them. I didn't want too but I had to use all my powers so they probably already know that the Elysian has been found." I explained.

" So, what next?" Rose asked.

" We tell the council."
