Chapter 34 - The Knot

Violet

Violet wrapped herself around Landon as he drove down the windy road. It felt nice to be this close to her man, but her thoughts kept bringing the unexpected meeting from the Steakhouse with the members of his motorcycle club. The encounter was neither warm nor friendly leading her to believe these were not Landon’s friends.

Cutter lived up to Jack’s warnings. The murderous expression on Landon’s face left little to the imagination how he got his nickname at the club. It had been easy to toss the caution out of mind when Jacob had given his approval of Landon. But now Violet could not ignore Cutter.

Violet knew she should be scared. It was in her best interest to demand him to take her back home and to stay away from her. That was the right thing to do. But her heart knew no fear. Cutter was dangerous, but he was only a mask Landon wore. He deserved a chance to explain what he was doing with the human MC and to finally open his mind as well as his heart to her. Sure, Landon kept on telling her he wanted more than a hook-up but was he really ready to level with someone and to be raw and exposed in front of another? Probably not now. But Violet knew he would get there.

One thing was certain. She had taken Landon for granted. Perhaps it was the way he devoted his full attention to her or the easy way in which he all but moved in with her, that made him appear approachable. But he was a fighter, a social media expert, and a skilled politician all wrapped in one. Violet’s curiosity focused on what Landon was doing with a MC he didn’t like. If it wasn’t for the company or out of love for the bikes, then it could be only one thing – work. But why would Landon even consider working for humans?

Creed.

It had to be the answer to what she had witnessed.

One thought led to another. If Creed took such a prominent part in Landon’s life, then it opened their meeting to different interpretation. She was never anyone’s intended target.

Landon was.

When Landon pulled in a private driveway and finally parked, Violet jumped right out of the bike, taking the darn helmet off.

“Careful,” Landon reached out to her, only for Violet to push the helmet into his hand.

“My ears are still buzzing,” Violet told him quickly while she laced her fingers through her hair. Before she could ask him the question him when her brain finally processed the sound. “You have a beach house?”

“House-sitting for a friend,” Landon explained opening the door for her, revealing a view Violet had only heard about. Her eyes shifted between Landon and the ocean blues, unable to voice her excitement. She didn’t need to. Landon already knew. “The first time I came in, all I want to do is feel the sand under my toes.”

“A man to my taste,” Violet laughed, tugging him to go outside while undoing her shoes and tossing her socks aside. “How private is it?”

“Quite,” Landon told her and Violet suggestively wiggled her eyebrows at him as they stepped over the sand. The initial contact with the sand was anything but pleasant. The little sand particles felt like sharp glass prickling her feet. Violet tried to step back on the porch only to run into Landon’s awaiting arms. He effortlessly scooped her, carrying her over the hot. When he finally set her down her toes sunk in the wet sand, as the waves kept crushing against their feet. “Now you know why we can’t fornicate in the sand.”

“Good heavens, no. Not now at least, but in the evening,” Violet explained her hands feeling the taut chest underneath, her eyes traveling south, seeing her toes buried in the wet sand. “This is amazing.”

Landon’s hands moved over her shoulders, pushing her hair behind her ears and shoulders. The gesture caught her attention and her eyes traveled back to his blues.

“Worthy story to tell our grandkids,” Landon suggested before his lips met her neck, his teeth scraping her skin, hinting of his intentions as if his words had not already rung a mating bell. “I vow to thee, my love. I’d be yours to my dying breath. If you shall have me?”

Violet could not stop her tear-brimmed eyes from spilling. As soon as the first drop made it down her cheeks, she knew she was his forever.

Landon

There were only a select few moments of his life, which Landon found confusing. This was definitely one of them. While strong emotions were to be expected at such a pivotal point of their lives, he certainly did not expect he would be waiting for a verbal confirmation. Her tears contradicted the nod of her head. Her face was on his chest as she held him close, yet her shoulders continued to shake.

Landon reached out and wiped her tears with his thumbs, but the gesture intensified her reaction. His thumb brushed her jaw then lifted her chin, looking at her tear-stained face.

“I am sorry,” Violet finally spoke, raising the anxiety in Landon. “You are the mate, I have always longed for. Nothing would please me more than to be yours.”

“Nothing?” Landon smiled, thinking of all the ways he could please her.

Landon’s eyes focused on her shoulder where he would place his mark, his hand trailed over the skin before his lips replaced his fingertips.

“Now?” Landon breathed over her skin.

“You’re my one,” Violet told him, wrapping her hands around his torso.

Her fingers tugged at his clothes, giving him all the permission he needed to sink his teeth into her flesh. Her nails dug into his forearms as she held onto him for support. The sweet life essence coated his tongue and he hungrily swallowed. Taking in her blood with the intention to complete a mating, awoke a bundle of neurons in the recipient’s brain. The rudimentary center known as the Knot was responsible for all the changes that prepared the couple for mating and the subsequent heat and procreation. It was also housing their mating link, allowing them to communicate over greater distances and feel each other’s emotions. It was the ultimate vow, uniting them in an invisible tie. The connection between them would not be complete until she reciprocated and marked him while taking in his blood, then sealed the link with a mating.

Werewolves did not need a ring or signatures to attest to their love. The Knot gave all the insurance one needed for faithfulness and unconditional love. It was the gateway to seeing yourself through the mind of each other. Or so Landon had heard.

Violet

Silently nodding her acceptance to bear his mark, Violet braced for the pain that would inevitably come. She had seen it before. The new claim severed all previous marks, and the wolves howled in pain at a loss. But without a wolf, who was there to mourn the ape Fate bound her to?

It certainly wasn’t going to be Violet.

She finally had a man she could call hers. Just a bite away. A quick snack on his neck and their Fates would be sealed together.

As the discomfort from Landon’s canines piercing through her flesh subsided, Violet was overwhelmed by the pull towards him. Sure, she was attracted to Landon before, but now the newly established tie wrapped them in a lust-filled cocoon, where nails ripped through the fabric in search for skin. The more blood Landon took in the stronger their bond became until Violet was panting from blood loss and excitement. The groan that came within Landon’s chest urged her to do what was right.

Reciprocate.

Her tongue traced his collarbone, before moving up to the base of his neck. Violet tiptoed, her hands pulling Landon to her level. He slouched just enough for Violet to gain access and sink her teeth into his skin. Landon grunted, breathing out against his claim on her. Violet stilled immediately releasing his flesh, looking at the indents of her human teeth. Her teeth did not shift, preventing her from claiming him as hers.

“I,” Violet did not know what to say, but hot tears started filling her eyes once again.

Landon pecked his claim on her before speaking.

“We have a lifetime for that,” Landon tried to comfort her.

“No, Lan.” Violet shook her head. “I always wanted this,” she pointed between the two of them. “It’s so disappointing to be denied it by my own wolf.”

“I know,” Landon pointed to his head. “I feel how much you love me and my heart swells as well as other parts,” Landon joked, bringing a smile to her face. “There you are. I love you. If your wolf needs more time to come out of her shell, it’s okay with me. I want you to mark me when she is present, so she doesn’t feel trapped in a mating. But if waiting is not something you want, I don’t care if we need to knife a mark into my neck.”

“Cutter,” Violet mumbled his nickname from the MC. He nodded.

“I’m all in,” Landon told her.

“You’re right. I should wait for my wolf too,” Violet told him. “It’s just a mark for others not to poach my territory.”

“I am exclusively yours,” Landon replied. “It’s just like wearing wedding bands or not.”

“If we were only human. I guess I am jealous I don’t get to feel your knot.” Violet explained. Landon smiled at her confession only for Violet to point to her head.

“You can already read me as an open book,” Landon chuckled.

It was not the same and they both knew it.

“Let’s get inside,” Landon decided to break the awkward silence. Violet had no doubt he felt her disappointment as she looked forward to this moment.

“Afraid someone would see us?” Violet challenged him, stepping away from his hands and teasingly taking off her shirt tossing it his way. Her bra boldly joined the clothing in his hands before she bolted.

Landon

Oh, boy was he over his head.

The bond transformed Violet from an exotic Temptress to Werewolf Goddess.

His Goddess.

Landon smiled enjoying her playfulness. He caught her flying bra and before he had the chance to enjoy the view of her breasts, she ran. sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ FɪndNovᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Never run away from your mate.

It was something pups were taught from a young age. It had a lot to deal with the prevention of rejections for petty reasons.

Landon’s wolf surged, happy at the chance to chase after his mate.

Before Landon knew it he was running down the beach on four legs, effortlessly gaining on Violet, then quickly blocked her path. Violet squeaked trying to stop herself from running into him, but the momentum carried her into his direction. She closed her eyes as if that would prevent their collision. Landon shifted back to his human, catching her with his outstretched arms, the momentum carrying them as he felt on his back.

“Oh, my Gosh. Landon, you shifted,” Violet exclaimed the moment they came to a halt. She was happy for him.

“You ran away from your mate. I had to give chase,” Landon smiled only to feel her hand playfully swat at his arms.

“You shouldn’t have locked him in so soon. I didn’t get a good look,” Violet whined as her hands felt Landon’s back looking for injuries. The gesture warmed his heart, making him wish she could feel for herself that she was his world.

“Well, he did,” Landon replied, “and I hadn’t pushed him away, he would have mounted you already.”

“That would be very hard to explain to your neighbors…. Or to animal control,” Violet laughed, her nose brushing against his chest and shoulder as they lay in the sand. “Though remind me to thank him for getting rid of your clothes.”

Violets eyes caressed his body, while her mind shot images of their intertwined bodies on the beach.

“The only problem with that is that sand gets everywhere,” Landon replied to her.

“Wesley, are you speaking of experience?” Violet questioned.

“Before you get naughty ideas, I surf,” Landon told her, nodding towards the outside of his cottage, where surf-boards were proudly displayed.

“You, the Northerner surf?” Violet laughed at the contradiction.

“Like a Pro,” Landon winked at her, referencing to his morning routine that now could be theirs.

“I’d like that. But I can’t swim,” Violet replied to his thought.

“I’ll teach you how to swim,” Landon vowed, then smiled and added, “and more.”

Violet

Landon was right. The sand got in places she rather it didn’t. She followed him into the house making a mental note to question him more about his friend. The cottage featured an open floor concept. The design elements made the house feel more like something you looked at in a magazine not live in. Landon rounded a corner and stopped in front of the glass doors of a shower.

“Wow,” Violet exclaimed at the sheer size of the bathroom that was the size of her bedroom.

He only smiled and proceeded to relieve her of the rest of her clothing.

“It’s big,” Violet’s fingers ran over the tiles as she followed Landon inside.

“I know, right?” The way Landon grinned as he said it showed he was not talking about the shower. Her eyes immediately locked onto his groin. Her hand wrapped against the hardened flesh, feeling the cords as she tested her grip before slowly pumping him in her hand. Landon groaned as he watched her touch him. Feeling adventurous Violet pulled his shower gel and squeezed it over his stomach and sensually spreading it over his lower abdomen, carefully lathering it around the hilt of his shaft, sliding her hands underneath and tracing the muscular floor of his pelvis, only to return to milking him in excruciatingly slow pace. He was no longer able to contain himself, his hands pressed into her skin, bringing her hips to him, pressing his mushroom head into her opening. His thumb covered her pearl, gently rolling it to release her coating juices, so when he pressed further in, he easily sunk in. It was not the depth that brought her over the top. His hips rolled into hers, while his hands gave her a sensual massage, molding her into his body. The water kept washing their bodies gliding in this sleek vertical dance.

The sensation built up in her stomach until it erupted in a blissful surrender. She was no longer in charge of her body, as he kept on bathing her in his love. Her body vibrated in tune with his moves, which swept her further and further away until her essence was his. Her body relaxed around him, her brain now capable of coherent thoughts finally focused on those stormy blues, watching her come down from her high, only to recognize he was still throbbing, holding himself back. He built up momentum then pulled out shooting a line of his hot sticky juice across her belly. If that was he wanted, Violet had no quarrel of kneeling in front of him, catching a ropy jerk across her chest, before licking her lips and taking him in. Landon palms pressed against the wall behind him, his nails shifting over the wet tiles as she tasted him. Violet did not mind the intoxicatingly rich aroma of this pure male in his prime. She licked and teased him with tongue, tracing every dip and raise. She felt the warmth of his seed down her throat, overflow coating her tongue. Landon’s hands guided her head as he pumped several times into her mouth. His knees jerked forward as he groaned his final release.

Violet swirled her tongue over his spongy head, before standing up.

“That was,” Violet started but never finished as he claimed her lips with his.

Landon

Landon could get her enough of Violet. There was no way around the lust the mating bond created, the beast part wanting to indulge into activities until they were fully mated. He was proud she had chosen him. The possessiveness Landon felt urged him to smear his essence across her skin in addition to his mark he had on her skin. His scent was not intermixed with hers, his maleness overpowering her sweet scent, warding off any unmated males she was taken. Even though such proclamation of their relationship was medieval, he wanted it known she was his. They belonged together and he would kill whoever dared to stand in his way.

Violet allowed him to finish in her mouth, licking him dry, her incredible tongue coaching him to spill all that he had. Whether or not she realized the significance of that, remained a mystery but one thing was certain. She did not mind it.

The mating bond tugged and pulled at them together. Landon expected her wolf to surface during their first mating after his claim, but alas things in life were never perfect. Nothing ever was. Maybe except for his Violet. Landon should have met Violet a long freaking time ago, before the warm before everything started.

When you were in so much sync with another, words were not needed. Hands carried the lather, awakening their need to rejoice in each other’s embrace. The smooth slippery surface only intensified the obsessive desire to feel. This time it was Landon who took charge.

“Turn around,” Landon told her and with one last lustful look over her shoulder, she followed his command.

She did not need to shake her butt in front of him for Landon to be mesmerized by her naked behind. The motion only made him eagerly crave her submission. His hands wrapped around her wrists and brought her hands over the wet tile.

“No touching,” Landon whispered against his mark on her, making her close her squeeze her legs, rolling her hips against his hard-on, challenging his rule. Landon liked her defiance. The bond told him she was aching to have him again. Landon smiled as his lips traced her shoulder, giving her goosebumps. His foot tapped her ankles and she groaned but complied, spreading her legs, waiting for him to touch her. Landon spread butterfly kisses at the base of her neck, his nose buried in her wet hair, taking in her scent.

“Landon,” Violet prompted.

“Hmm,” Landon replied.

“I want you.”

“I know,” Landon teased her.

“Wanna do something about it then?” Violet impatiently prompted.

“But I am,” Landon chuckled, tracing her spine with the tip of his finger. Violet groaned at the contact. “I am showing you I am not just a dick. That I will take care of you in ways nobody could. Do you like that?”

“Hmm,” Violet hummed.

“Anticipation and delayed gratification work to built up the tension in your breasts and the need between your legs.” Landon continued, cupping her breast to accentuate his words with one hand and barely brushing his other over her groin then moved down the front of her leg. Disappointment washed over the bond, only for Landon to step behind her, allowing her to feel his desire for her. Excitement sizzled over the bond. She pressed her hips into him, bending forward without taking her hands off the tile. Landon groaned from the overwhelming sensation the bond carried to him. It was hard to tease when it equaled him teasing himself. His hand on her right breast explored the enticing flesh with a firm touch, ending with rolling her nipples between his fingers, making her sigh at the lost contact, only for Landon to repeat the same treatment on the left.

Landon grabbed the forgotten shower head and pointed it to her belly, while he continued to tease her chest. When he finally pointed it to her groan she shuddered at the contact.

“The sweet agony,” Landon replied watching her hands fist against the wall as he continued the game of flick, spray and grind. Soon it was torturous for even him to withstand having her so close yet so far away.

His hand dropped from her breast to her pearl, tracing the soft flesh around it but never directly hitting its target.

“Landon, you better” Violet started talking only to stop midsentence with her request, when Landon rolled her pleasure button between his forefinger and thumb, before parting her lips and exposing her folds. She knew what was coming, the anticipation bucking her knees as he finally swept the moisture inside. Her muscles contracted against him, her legs trapping his hand. His wrist now directly pressed against her soft mound. As her hips jerked against his hand, he left a wet trail over her lower back and behind. There was nothing sexier than watching her reach her zenith.

“Goddess. You’re beautiful,” Landon whispered as her grip loosened allowing him to give her a hand. Landon smirked into her shoulder, before his lips found his claim on her, driving her mad. Landon promised her, “I am not going anywhere.”

As her hold on him relaxed he continued stroking her until she finally spoke.

“Wow. That was intense,” Violet whispered.

“Glad you enjoyed it, but we’re not done,” Landon replied to her as she tried to turn around. “Tz-tz. So impatient. Face the wall, Temptress.”

“Just who is tempting who?” Violet questioned him, making him chuckle.

“Good point,” Landon agreed.

“Now do I finally get you?” Violet asked.

“I am yours,” Landon teased her as he kept exploring her folds.

“You know what I mean,” Violet

“Tell me,”

“Make me feel as incredible as you always do,” Violet replied.

“I thought you’d never ask,” Landon cheekily replied before his free hand fell over her lower back and pressed down. Violet complied presenting a view Landon and his Beast truly appreciated. When his tongue traced her brand, she tensed. He breathed over the damp skin, “You’re my Goddess. The ultimate perfection of strength,” his lips pecked her Breeder’s brand, while his desire settled in between her butt cheeks and slid forward, before blindly tunneling in and replacing his hand between her legs, “and softness.”

Landon felt her part before the muscles enveloped him only to relax and spasm around him. He wanted to go slow, to be gentle, and to make her moan his name for hours. The response of her body pushed him further along her passage and once fully embedded, he knew he would never get enough of Violet.

His mate.

“I,” Landon started not sure what he wanted to say. Her erratic breathing was the first sign of her intentions as she rocked her hips in him, making those deliciously sinful figure-eight moves he remembered from the lap dance in Velvet. He allowed her full control over their joining, stroking her belly and running his hands up and down her front. The contact was not enough.

“I need to,” Violet started only for Landon to pick up his pace from behind her. His sharp, quick thrusts were met with her soft pants that quickly escalated to loud moans. The smooth slippery wetness that engulfed him rooted him in the moment and made him feel deeply connected. There wasn’t any room for regret. His lonely existence had meant something. It had led him to Violet.

As knees his became unsteady he pulled out, hearing Violet whimper at the loss of the contact. He sat down on the slab at the far end, helping Violet over his lap.

“Lapdance throw-back,” Landon cheekily explained.

“With a happy ending,” Violet shot back making him chuckle before taking him in rocking her hips against him, slipping a hand between them, feeling their joining.

“You gave me the worse case of blue balls since the beginning of time,” Landon replied.

“Am I not making up for it?” Violet jested, lowering herself and pushing her torso up to meet him.

The slow steady pace was welcomed after the strenuous activities. It wasn’t until Violet rested her hands on his knees, finding support there before she casually lifted her legs over his shoulders. The new angle allowed him a visual aid few could deny. Deep and fast, Landon guided her body to meet his thrusts, his abs tensed, his butt pressed off his seat as Landon emptied himself within her confinement. Violet relaxed around him, her legs dropping from his shoulders as she snuggled into his body, milking him dry with the walls of her passage.

“Incredible. I feel tingly all over,” Violet breathed into his shoulders.

Landon’s insides quivered as she ground down his length, testing her grip on him. If it wasn’t for their skin getting wrinkly, Landon would have stayed like that much longer.

Violet

It wasn’t until the later afternoon that her mind went back to Pack Order and Velvet. As good as it was spending time with Landon, she knew they could not outrun their problems.

“We are not running,” Landon corrected her.

The mindlink allowed emotions and thoughts to be channeled between mates, regardless of Pack allegiance. Violet could not receive information from Landon as she hadn’t yet marked him, he could feel her emotions and catch glimpses of images or memories she projected to him. How she was doing it, remained even a bigger question for Violet.

“Stay out of my inner monologues,” Violet told him.

“You are steadily mindlinking me. My guess is your wolf wants some of this,” Landon pointed at himself, only to receive a slap across his chest for his cockiness. “Wait, it is a good thing. The mind link is never an invasion into the mind of another. You have to want to say something to me, for me to hear it. Which could only mean she approves me, too. Just playing hard to get, you know,” Landon chuckled.

“Seeing if you’d chase me,” Violet added.

“Always,” Landon promised running his hand mindlessly over her back.

“So if we are not running away from our lives, what are we doing?”

“Enjoying mated life,” Landon replied, snuggling into her, his head over her chest. Violet ran her fingers through his hair.

“And Pack Order?”

“We have something they want, otherwise they would not be giving us a time of day,” Landon replied. “I am pretty sure I am kickass, but they know I am not going back.”

“Back?” Violet’s hand froze mid-stroke, she tugged his hair so she could see his face. “You were PO?”

“PO sounds like a P.O.Box,” Landon complained. “I did three years with them. It was before I started picking up random tasks for the fun of it. It eventually became my business.”

“You still do jobs for them,” Violet concluded.

“On occasion,” Landon agreed.

“Oh. I expected you to say something within the lines of ‘Can’t confirm nor deny it’.”

“There is no room for secrets between us,” Landon shrugged.

“I like that,” Violet admitted.

“I know,” Landon replied, touching his head.

“But aren’t you going to be bored with all this?”

“I’ve waited long enough for you and I have a really big,” Landon paused then added, “Imagination.”

“Yeah, it is really big,” Violet laughed as she didn’t clarify further, leaving him to wonder if she was agreeing or jesting with him.

“Now that’s not fair,” Landon complained.

“Seriously though, what do you think would happen next?” Violet asked him.

“You would want to call Velvet to inform them you’re not going to work tonight. Then I am going to have my way with you again and again until we are too spent to even stay awake,” Landon explained with a serious tone.

“I bet your friend down there would love that plan,” Violet joked.

“Not as much as I love you,” Landon cheekily replied.

“I love you, too, Mate.” Violet told him. “But I promised Gareth I’d help him with the selection of the new male dancers.”

“You don’t need to be there,” Landon replied, kissing her stomach. “He. Can. Give. You. Remote. Access.” Landon accentuated every word with a peck kiss further up her body until his lips reached hers.

“That way you wouldn’t feel guilty about not going to work, while I get to keep you for my own wicked desires.”

He rolled over her, hovering over her, while her leg wrapped around his waist and using it as a pivot she lifted her torso off the bed, allowing him access to her silky folds.

“I take it you like my ideas,” Landon replied, creating a slow rhythm with his hips.

“Hmm,” Violet agreed. “All of them.”

“All?” Landon asked sinking into her to the hilt.

“Yes,” Violet moaned as he raised one of her legs, using it as his pivot to plow into her again and again.

Landon

Landon had to curb his excitement. Perhaps it was his wolf giving him the endurance to claim her over and over again until she had fallen asleep from exhaustion.

Landon felt guilty and decided to make the call to Velvet on her behalf. It was early evening and he had no doubt that Gareth would miss her. He picked up his cell phone heading out. He groaned when he saw the number of missed calls and the text messages he had gotten from his two most favorite Alphas. Wondering which evil to pick, he quickly chose the lesser, returning Aberdeen’s call.

“Where the hell had you been?”

Landon smiled as the memories flooded his vision of having Violet.

“On second thought, no. I don’t want to know what kind of nasty you are doing with Violet,” Aberdeen replied.

“How do you know she is with me?” Landon wondered.

“What gave it away? Maybe the way you’ve been sniffing her like a lost puppy,” Ethan’s ironic comment came awfully close to an insult. Alpha or not, Ethan wasn’t Landon’s Alpha. A warning growl sounded from deep within Landon’s chest. It was one thing to allow Jacob to meddle in his life out of courtesy to Noah’s will but Abderdeen did not get the same leverage. “Does she have fillings?”

“Why?” Landon shot even before wondering how the heck was he even supposed to know such a detail.

“Silver fillings?” Ethan specified.

“No.” Landon guessed. “Why?”

“Have you checked everywhere?”

“You mean besides her mouth?” Landon smart assed his reply. “Are you fishing for an excuse to meet with dr Kaleo again?”

“Just ask Violet, will ya?” Ethan replied.

“Fine, once she wakes up. Would you mind telling me why was this so important that required fifteen missed calls and ten messages in the span of three hours?”

“We have to give thanks to the good doctor; otherwise, we would have never made a connection.”

“What now?”

“Creed elevates the temperature just enough to allow separation of the metals in the silver fillings, resulting in toxic indigestion of silver, and death for the host,” Ethan replied.

“Noah died because he had black fillings,” Landon concluded, not sure how he felt about an answer this simple.

“Not black, silver.” Ethan corrected him.

“Same thing,” Landon replied. “If it is this simple, why haven’t we caught it before?”

“Because Pack Order is covering it up,” Ethan replied.

“Impossible. They want Creed off the market as badly as we do,” Landon dismissed Ethan’s concern.

“They fed you the company propaganda and integrated themselves in your investigation. That was why you haven’t made progress until I came along,” Ethan replied.

“Shit,” Landon swore, quickly running into the bedroom to wake up Violet only to find her gone.
