Verse 19- Changeless Past with a breath of lies

Jyro and Leo stumbled back through the mirror and found themselves in the Forrest, Jyro laid his compatriot down then slowly approached the mirror, he took out the Zooz stick and saw that the weapon was on the verge of breaking probably from overuse that Jack had warned him about, so he aimed it towards the mirror and spoke “fulgure et malleus”, his whole arm filled with electricity as the lightning shot out of the weapon and immediately upon impact resonated through the mirror and in seconds shattered it into pieces. Jyro watched on whilst the shards of glass rained to the ground and as each shard hit the earth he knew his friendship with Liam did so as well.

Leo slowly woke up not too long after, he awoke to harsh coughs and a painful chest probably from the fumes he consumed from the flames. Sitting nearby gazing at the night sky was Jyro, the boy sat in silence and gleamed aimlessly at the night above him. “You alright there Jyro” asked Leo, “oh your finally awake” he replied before turning his attention back to the sky, Leo looked at Jyro and saw something was different about him, “hey Leo, do you think people are born evil” asked Jyro keenly, Leo paused for a second confused at why Jyro asked such a question “where I come from we have an important saying it’s not about how you was born but what matters the most, is what you do before you die” answered Leo. Jyro thought intently to himself for a few moments, “I see that’s an interesting way to see it” he said,

“By the way Jyro… your secrets safe with me” said Leo as he slowly walked away into the distance, Jyro understood what Leo meant but he didn’t react or feel threatened he simply smirked to himself and gazed back at the stars that emerged from above.

The sounds of cheering and clapping resonated through the chapel halls, the students filled the chapel benches from the bottom to the top. “Welcome all you students for our final assembly of the school academic year” said the headmistress as she continued to address the hall “firstly I’d like to congratulate you all on the completion of your academic year and look forward to seeing you next year as Grade D students at Canta Academy “, the students applauded the words of the headmistress, “ Now secondly id like us all to give a round of applause for the 12 chosen students on their involvement in the task and an extra mention to the winner Miss Tristine Morrowind” the assembly invoked in cheers and whistles as they paid appreciation to the chosen 12 E graders. Meanwhile Tristine and Johnny sat on of the bench conversing with one another, “phew what a year we’ve had… right Trish,” said an excited Johnny who was stuffing his face with the celebration cake, “mmm I wonder if Jyros doing ok he didn’t even attend the last assembly” she said worryingly, “he’ll be fine Trish he’s probably just been exhausted from the task… he’ll be back to his normal safe in a giffy… I hope” said Johnny unconvincingly.

Knock- knock... “Come on in”, Jyro opened the door and entered Mr Kobis office. For once the room was exceptionally clean, all books where in their correct places and all papers were stacked neatly on the desk there wasn’t even a speck of dust lying on the ground. “Nice to see you doing well Jyro, glad you could make it…. Why don’t you take a seat?” said the headmaster, “your office sir… its... it’s clean!” gasped Jyro whilst he went to take his seat. Just when the two were about to talk the door opened and standing by the doorway was a smartly dressed women wearing a grey skirt and smart suited blazer, she pulled her glasses down to get a proper look at the boy then said “ahh you must be Jyro Thomas, I’ve heard a lot of things about you” she said, the lady went over to greet him but seemed to glare at him with a cold stare, “erm it’s nice to meet you Miss…” he replied “Miss Elaine Shaw” interrupted MR Kobi “this wonderful lady is my secretary she’s been away on… you know business” he said nervously, “yes I work with the royal council you see so I’m a part-timer around here… oh shoot well will you look at the time I best be off then….. I’ll be looking forward to seeing your face next year ….Jyro” the secretary smirked at the boy then left the office. “Ahem well shall we begin then Mr Thomas I know what you’re probably going to ask me so I’ll tell you….Yes I’ve known about you for a very long time Jyro and I ….well we’ve always been watching you” spoke the professor, “ we… you mean you’re not the only person who knows about me” Jyro queried . (“Sigh), there was only a handful of us that knew about your birth, you see your mother was …. How do I put this… your mother was quite special and a very dear friend to us” said Earnest. “Us who do you mean by us and how did you know my mother sir” asked Jyro, “ we was all young the day we met her me, Jack , Vincent, a lady called Madeline Gates and a man name Joseph your Father”, Jyro halted the headmaster in shock “ my father? You knew my father as well” he blurted curiously, “ yes the five of us were the best of friends always going on adventures and mind you always getting into trouble as well but one day we came across a peculiar giant tree with a young girl sitting beneath it marvelling at the tree , her name was Alice your mother . Alice was different from us we all immediately knew this as she could tell things that were going to happen right before they did and she could befriend any animal that came into her presence, but we’d not discover how special Alice was till later on in life the day her relatives came to take her away she told us she was part of a race called the Nephilim, a human race with the blood of the angels from heaven. So Alice went away but out of us there was one person who chased her down to the end of the world your dad Joseph and many years later the night you was conceived was the day the hells gate tragedy happened, your father and mother both died trying to protect you”. Jyro sat in silence and reflected on the words the headmaster had told him, “ Jyro have you ever wondered why animals and people all wanted to be around you or how you done things you didn’t know how you did, it’s because of your mother’s blood that flows within you just like her you inherited the angel gene” said Earnest, Jyro then lifted up his cursed arm and glared towards the headmaster, “ so everything is true then , this arm it’s from a demon prince” he said calmly, the headmaster glared back at him in shock , “ how did you find that out…but yes one of the Kings men a lonewolf knight called Eros he fought and killed the demon then attached a piece of him to you to save your life” spoke the headmaster , Jyro slowly tried to take everything he heard in“ so that makes 3 people then who died for my sake” Jyro spoke aloud, and earnest in response could not find the words to console the dejected boys heart. “So sir if you knew about me why was you shocked to see me when I came here with Jacks consent” he asked curiously, the headmaster paused for a few moments before he spoke, “ this is probably going to be hard to take but Jack the man who sent you here isn’t what he claims to be he was using you as a ploy to help satisfy his grief from losing his best friend ,your dad Joseph, so you should try to understand that, Jack is a man who only cares about himself Jyro I mean look how long you spent with him and he didn’t even tell you anything about your past why do you think he’s sent you here Jyro ” said the headmaster . Hearing the words of jack using him were hard to take on Jyro and on top of hearing about his parents the boy almost had a breakdown. Mr Kobi suddenly stood up and embraced the boy, “don’t be afraid and don’t be sad your parents loved you and cared about you very much, your safe over here so don’t worry will look after you” he said consolingly, Jyros spirits lifted a bit as he wiped his eyes and proceeded out the door, “sir….. Thank you for telling me the truth “he said before exiting the room.

The headmaster sat on his chair and removed his glasses, he placed his head into his hands then suddenly begun to feel light tremors coming from his pocket, so he placed his hand inside and removed the bottle containing the clear water that was shaking. He removed he lid and out came the water coated pixie forming itself in front of his eyes, “Master it is done the familiar has been captured” the pixie said” show me” replied the headmaster restlessly, the pixie then expanded into a clear bubble, and inside the bubble earnest could see the Oviz the small goat that travelled with Jack trapped in a small cage somewhere. “ Very good Alice you may return now” he said, “ but master I sensed the boy with the cursed arm in hear, why didn’t you reveal to him that his master has perished “ said the formless pixie, Mr kobi then smirked menacingly to himself and glared to the ceiling, “ so you heard it then the lie I spouted about Jack, well its best off this way him hating Jack because if I revealed to him that Jack has been murdered ontop of the news of his parents id have surely lost his focus, at least with this ill have him under my full control” said earnest as he grinned to himself, “ That kid is the key to this project id never let anything disturb that not even the death of a late friend of mine” the pixie then entered back into the bottle.

“What’s so urgent that we had to come over her in a hurry” stressed Tristine, Jyro closed and locked his door behind him then begun to explain to Johnny and Tristine about everything he has heard and seen in the last few hours. After he explained it all to them the two of his friends then sat in silence and looked on at Jyro in sadness, “ we’re sorry to hear that about your parents Jy” said Tristine, “ yeah I know but I heard they were amazing especially my mum so im ok now I think” he replied with a bit more cheer in his voce, “ the blood of an angel and the arm of a demon… whoa talk about a bombshell and to think Liam was a dark follower …deary me Jyro I really don’t know what to say mate“ exclaimed Johnny, “ but that’s not what’s alarming I think that the headmaster is lying to me about something” Jyro spoke strongly, “ what, why would he do that” his two friends asked him, “ I have no clue but the way he suddenly decided to tell me everything I just got a suspicious feeling about this all, and when I questioned him on Jack he quickly dismissed him as someone who was using me which I….. I can’t seem to understand, my minds still confused at why …. Why wouldn’t he tell me he knew my parents straight away” said Jyro in wonder. “ I don’t know for sure Jyro but this all seems very confusing so we need to try to understand everything we know a little bit more, “ said Tristine , “so I’ve decided, we’ve got a lot of pieces that need to be put together so I think we need to find it” Tristine said, “ find it? Find what” responded Johnny, “The Book of Magic of course, and I think we should try and locate Jack Sterling he might understand what’s going on” Tristine said, Johnny signed to himself then grunted in frustration “ ahhh great as if Giants weren’t enough I guess were going on another adventure right” he said worryingly, “ it sure looks that way mate” Jyro added, “ guys I have something to show you two,” Jyro said abruptly, as his two friends stared at him he begun to undress. The moment his shirt hit the ground Tristine gasped in shock, Johnny got up and proceeded closer to Jyro staring at his body, “is that what I think it is” he asked, Jyros cursed arm stretched all the way to his shoulders with red veins at the end of where it was attached, and across on his chest was a symbol of a swastika with blue markings around it, “it’s the requirements for Lightning Brand … Jack put this on me before I came here” Jyro replied, “ and it’s also the only way for me to find him” he added, the kids looked at one another in silence as they all slowly realised their school life was about to get very complicated.

“The extent to one’s darkness is as shallow as a deep canal, a void less emotion and dark matter clouding ones thoughts, it’s the perfect resting place for sin and lawlessness to dwell. It takes a certain man to break away from such a nightmare yet it takes a god to keep one out of one permanently. But being alive one must find a way out of the nightmare or perish in it without ever seeing the light”.
