With a sudden, muffled sound, Quintus lunged forward, stabbing Quentyn in the lower back with a dagger.

Quentyn sneered, "Sworn brothers? Can he really be considered a brother when he stabbed me in the back, who flatters and sycophants, who aids and abets your tyrannies?"

Xanthakos pointed at Quentyn, taking two steps back slowly. "Very well. It seems you've forgotten our brotherhood for James. Despite enduring so much in the Forty-Ninth Heaven, I saved only you two at the crucial moment.

"What kind of spell did James cast on you to make you so loyal that you disregard our years of brotherhood with US?" Quentyn took a deep breath, about to speak when he felt a searing pain from his lower back. He staggered, retreating several steps before steadying himself, feeling weak and collapsing to the ground.

He reached for his wound, and upon seeing his blood turn black, he understood the meaning behind Quintus's treacherous stab.
