Harsh sunlight streamed into the bedroom and onto my face. I grabbed a pillow to shield my eyes and groaned.
“Your Majesty, your dress has arrived. Time to get up.” Rhona mercilessly wrested the pillow away from my hands. She laughed at my face. “Hmm… late night huh?”

When we returned to the castle after our run, Amaris was relentless. He possessed me in every possible way. It was surprising that I was to walk, my legs were still shaky.
Lily bounded into the bedroom. “I’ve run your bath, your Majesty.” She clapped her hands together, “Soon as you’re done, we can get to work.”
I groaned. “You’ll have to perform a miracle.”
Lily gilled. “You’ll be gorgeous, don’t worry.”

“Why are you guys so nice to me?” I was so used to being snubbed by most of the other staff.

“It’s our duty to serve you.” Rona walked right up to me and leaned with her hands on the table. “But if I may be blunt, I admire you. Despite being of the same rank as us, a lowly Omega, you’ve managed to make the king happy. He deserves to be happy.”

“I agree with Rona. He needs to be loved.” Sarah smiled shyly back at me. “He dotes you, your Majesty.”
My cheeks glowed thinking of Amaris and what Sarah said, he needs to be loved. I sipped the steaming herbal tea. It had a bitter aftertaste and 1 frowned. Rona saw it and said, “The healer sent it. I’m not sure what it’s for though.”
Remembering what Amaris said about our going to the healer I shrugged and drank it down, “Maybe the king requested it.”
I stared at the dress in wonder. It was the most beautiful dress I’ve ever laid eyes on, and it was mine. Rona chuckled, watching me staring at the work of art. The seamstress was a magician to have created such a dress in the little time she had.
“Beautiful, isn’t it?” She ran light fingers over the champagne-colored beaded lace. “Don’t just stand there, your Majesty. Let’s get you into it.”

What felt like hours later of pushing and pulling, brushing and cursing – mostly on my part my hair was done.
“Oh!” I hardly recognized myself when finally I was allowed to look in the mirror. My honey blonde hair was in an elaborate up-do with sparkly pins in strategic places, curly tendrils framed my face, and my long bangs were neatly pinned away.
“Not bad, even if I do say so myself.” Lily stood back to admire her handiwork, smiling smugly.
“Yes, the only thing missing now was the crown.” Sarah nodded in approval.
“Ladies, are we done?” Rona closed her eyes to link someone. After a while, she said, “They’re ready for us. We will accompany you to the throne room, your Majesty.”
The large golden double doors to the throne room were closed, Rona, Sarah and Lily took me right up the door where two guards were waiting to open it for me. Sarah and Lily spread out my train at the back while Rona checked if my hair and makeup.

I inhaled deeply and nodded. The guards opened the door, and I heard a murmur from the guests, but everything faded away when I looked to the front of the throne room where Amaris waited for me. He was breathtakingly handsome, smiling broadly when he saw me. Dressed in black military style uniform with a sword hanging by his side he looked both incredibly se xy and dangerous. His shoulder-length black hair was slicked back from his forehead and tied at the back.

“I swear loyalty to King Amaris Black and to the werewolf kingdom primarily. I will serve my kingdom and my king and uphold my duties as queen of this kingdom until my death.” I read out aloud the lengthy document that the Elder Mattias gave me.
After the last sentence Amaris took the sword from his side. He made a deep cut in his palm then in mine and grasped our hands together. I tried not to flinch because of the sharp sting. Amaris’ dark eyes bored into mine and I dared not make a sound. The elder held a golden goblet under our bleeding hands to catch the drops. Seconds later both the cuts healed and the elder held the goblet to my lips.
“Drink.”
I took a deep sip. The metallic taste of blood pric kled on my tastebuds, weirdly not unpleasant. It tasted of him. there was a strange whooshing sound in my ears as the link opened up and so many thoughts came rushing into my brain, I had an instant headache.

I only realized he was linking me when I squinted up at his face and saw t

Two more elders came to join Elder Mattias at the foot of the thrones, carrying two golden crowns on red velvet cus hions. Amaris’ crown had a small wolf’s head in front with rubles for its eyes. Mine was much smaller and encrusted with diamonds. It all felt so unreal, like it was a dream. I had a crown.
“Please kneel.” Elder Mattias instructed and Amaris helped me to my knees then he did the same
The elders placed the crown on our heads. “Rise, King Amaris and consort Queen Raine”
