Onyx's first shift

POV Gianna (fifteen years later):

I cannot believe it is Onyx’s seventeenth birthday. Boy have things change; we now have four children.

Surprise, the night we rekindled our love was the night we conceived Niayla.

Savanna is in Fae and werewolf training while Jahziel is only in werewolf training. Savanna will eventually take over for me as Queen when the time is right.

Oh yes, I almost forgot. I will become Queen in a short few months. Once Onyx officially becomes Alpha of our pack.

He is doing well with training, surpassing both his father and my skills. He is going to be a wonderful Alpha and an Excellent King once the time comes.

My parents have had enough of being King and Queen of the Fae’s and just want to travel and enjoy themselves. I can so relate, but as Queen of the Werewolves and future Queen of the Fae’s I have a duty. Rasheed and I also decided to move into the former werewolf palace to be closer to Onyx and the kids, as they wish to train with the Werewolves. They have already asked to stay apart of the Golden Moon Pack once we transition into King and Queen over both Fae and Werewolves.

I am packing up some things in my office, that I know I will not need in the next few months to get sent over to our new home. Onyx’s scent hits me and I turn to see my son standing in the doorway.

“Onyx, is everything okay? Did you need anything before you shift tonight? Is something wrong with the party?”

I throw question after question out.

“Mama, mama calm down everything is fine. I just wanted to see how my favorite person is.” Onyx smiles.

He takes a seat and lets out a sigh. I can tell something is bothering him.

“Come on, out with it, with is the problem? You know you can tell me anything and I will not judge you. I will only give you the wisdom you need.”

“Geeze mom, do you always know?” Onyx laughs. “Of course, as your mom I am always aware when something is troubling on of my children and your father of course.”

“So, I have been noticing that whenever Zoey comes around, I feel a little funny like anxious. I’m not sure what it could be I do not sense her as a threat.” He shrugs.

“Oh, my beautiful boy, it could be that she is your mate. Her parents will be here tonight for your birthday party. Maybe you will find out then. She is a few weeks older than you. If that is the case, I am sure she feels the pull towards you as well. Today let’s not worrying about that though, today is about you gaining your wolf. Focus on one thing at a time right now. Things are going to get crazy over the next few months. I just want you to enjoy this time.”

“Thanks mama” he says.

“Anytime munchkin, well I guess you’re not a munchkin any more you are a full-grown man.” I chuckle.

“Mom” Onyx says. “Yes?”

“I think it’s time for me to shift.” He says.

Onyx’s eyes turn red, and I know his wolf is trying to push forward. He hunches over in pain and growls. I am at his side instantly. I pop us outside where he will shift, the same place I shifted. I rub circles on his back and try to comfort him as much as possible.

“Rasheed, Onyx is shifting.” I mind link him.

“I’m on my way, isn’t it too early for him to shift? Werewolves shift at night G, are you sure?” Rasheed mind links back.

“Normally, but Onyx is also Fae, and Demon. That could be affecting him.”

“MOMMMMM” Onyx screams.

“It’s okay Onyx, mom is here. I am not leaving your side. I will be right here with you all the way, try not to fight it my boy. You are strong, you are an Alpha, a royal, you are going to get through this.”

I try my best to calm him down. His bones start cracking, and his mouth elongates. I can see white fur sprouting on his right side and red on his left side. He gets on his hands and knees and his paws appear. They are all black. He definitely has a unique fur pattern. Onyx has completely shifted; and he lets out a ferocious growl oh, he is gorgeous.

“Well, hello beautiful one, it is a pleasure to meet you.” I mind link his wolf.

Onyx’s wolf looks up at me and rubs his face against my hands. His fur is so soft and sparkly.

Onyx let’s out a defensive growl and I see a red flash out the corner of my eye. My stomach drops to the bottom of my stomach when I smell his biological father.

“Hello Father” Onyx’s wolf says.
