A day after the rehearsal, former King Barrett came to the pack house along with his mate Renee. They were there to help us with the ceremony but also to guide us into our new roles. They were such amazing people it was hard to believe they were over 300 years old. The men went into Tanner's office to discuss territorial boundaries and to learn a little more about all the packs he will reside over and Renee and I sat in the kitchen discussing her role as Queen.

She explained how her biggest obstacle was making her people respect her. There were always packs who had a problem with the Queen only because Alpha males don't usually take too well to a woman above them but her title alone was enough for them to suck up their pride. Men may be balls of fire and ready to snap at the first person who dare challenge them but when the Queen was around they had a hard time not showing how much they admired her. She was a regal lady who stood next to her King and protected their people from every obstacle.

She was an advocate for the women and children and had started the largest organization to house them if they lost their mate or families. She believed that no one should be alone and she proved it but always making sure they always had their needs met. Her presence had a tranquil effect on all who were in her vicinity and it was usually her who would calm a heated argument in minutes. She was also essential to her mate as he needed her with him at all times. Together they were the monarchs of the werewolf association and were responsible for making sure that everyone stayed within their limits.

"Elise? Does Tanner's pack know who you are?"

"No Queen. In fact I haven't even met any of them. After the battle he though it would be best if they took extra precautions so they have been working hard at keeping our boundaries impenetrable. But he has mentioned that some of them aren't fond of me."

"I heard about your predicament but I'm not sure if you understand fully why you are so special."

I looked at her with confusion. It's true I didn't know a lot about my heritage but I was certain I would figure it out eventually.

"I actually don't know much only that my mother was a Lycan and she died during childbirth."

She grabbed my hands and squeezed them reassuringly "I'm so sorry, that must have been extremely hard to grow up without her. But I am glad you found her pack again. When we heard about Julius and his plan we were in Europe trying to get a treaty signed with the Prime Minister. My family were direct descendants of the European grey wolves and we have been trying for centuries to link our countries together but they kept refusing because they said we didn't have a strong enough hold on our packs. Barrett was furious after another failed attempt at getting their agreement. But after we heard about the threat on the future King and how this ravenous wolf defended him, imagine our surprise when we found out she was his Lycan mate. This impressed him and he wanted us to set up a meeting with us all."

My eyes widened, I mean the King and Queen were an entirely different entity than the Projme Minister. Sure we both were the leaders of our countries but they were so much more powerful than our leaders and most always found flaws in our system. This could be huge, I mean we could finally fix all the issues with our governmental problems and get protection from all around the globe.

"He wants to meet with us?" I was beyond shocked.

"Don't be too surprised, I don't think you understand the magnitude of what you accomplished in that battle. If your mates pack didnt respect you before, they will when they find out who you are."

I never thought about it that way, but I didn't want people to know me as some super wolf I wanted them to respect me for other reasons like being their Queen. I wanted to gain their trust and help them the same way their previous leaders did. I needed to make them see that I wasn't the monster that I used to be but instead a completely different wolf all together. I know what I had done before was justifiable but being a murderer always made me feel cheap and disrespectful to the Moon Goddess, I mean she did create us all so there was a purpose to that but I always wondered if she frowned upon me.

She patted my hand and smiled brightly. We heard the men's voices coming down the hall and we both stood awaiting their arrival. I could feel the stress rolling off of Tanner in huge waves and I knew exactly what I needed to do. I looked at Renee and she gave me a nod and met her mate giving him a loving peck on his cheek. Then they walked into the living room while I walked up to Tanner and placed my hands on his chest. His breathing steadied and his eyes softened, he grabbed them both in his and placed a soft kiss on each one of my palms then pulled me close to him. I felt his shoulders relax as he inhaled deeply and blew out slowly.

"Thank you." His chest vibrated from his words and I felt my body reacting.

I stepped back and blushed as he smiled and said "I want you too wild one but maybe we should wait until our guests leave."

We walked into the living room along with King Barret and Queen Renee so they could tell us all about the ceremony. They explained how it has changed since they were crowned but the concept was the same, you exchange rings then you mix blood and once everything is over you complete the bond by marking each other. They broke down each part and what they symbolized. The rings were the joining of our human sides, it meant that we vowed to always be true to each other. Then the blood was the oath we gave to the Moon Goddess, as a sacrifice if you will that we were bound by blood for eternity. And lastly the marking sealed our mate bond and fused our wolves souls.

It was a lot of information but they assured us we would not be left alone to run the country right after the coronation. He would be Tanner's advisor for as long as he walked this Earth just like the previous Kong's before him. I could see the worry lift from his face and soon we were all making small talk and laughing. We still had a lot to learn about our positions but we would be making the decisions together along with the high council and previous leaders. But it was imperative that we made our own way and proved to others that we would be great rulers. A few hours passed and soon they were heading back to the cabin. We went upstairs and wrapped up in each other's arms ready for our new start. Whatever came our way, we would make it as long as we had each other.
