Chapter 3

Natalie’s screams fill the air as she’s dragged to the dungeons. She’s forcefully led down the stone, cold, corridors of the dungeon. The guards held her arms tightly as though she would run away from their grip. Natalie shrivels in fear as they walk through the dimly lit corridor. “Pick up your pace, freak!” A guard spat out at her.

She trembled under their gaze, tears springing up her eyes, her mind struggling to understand everything that just happened.

“I didn’t do anything.” She pleaded pathetically, her voice shaky and desperate. The guard, unmoved, halts in their walk, violently turning her to face him. He hits her across the cheek brutally, the sound echoing in the passageway. He grabbed her hair tightly, leaning closer to her, his face inches apart from her, his disgusting breath fanning against her face dangerously. Natalie gulped, a tear falling to her cheek. “Shut up, No one’s around to save you.” He spat out and literally spits at her, his saliva lands on her nose.

“Open the cell. She’s going where she belongs.” A menacing smirk lay on his l*ps as he instructed the other guard who immediately hurried to do as he was being told. Natalie is grabbed by the arm and thrown into the cell so harshly that she falls to the ground. A whimper escapes her l*ps, her knees scratching the roughly cemented floor. She stands up hurriedly, gripping unto the iron bars like a lowly criminal. Clutching the bars as though clinging to the last shred of her dignity.

“P–please let me see Luther. I can explain everything. This is one big misunderstanding. I- I would never do this. I can’t betray my pack! Please listen to me.” She cried out, her b*dy trembling horribly. The guard stood some feet away from her, a disgusting sneer on his face.

“I would gladly kill you with my bare hands if the Alpha allows it.” he says callously, he looks at the other guard and huffs. “Let’s go. Her fate awaits her.”

Natalie screams after them as they walk away. It’s futile. She’s locked deep inside the dungeon, confused and distraught. She fell to her knees, wrapping her arms around her b*dy, and sobbed heavily. She didn’t understand a thing that was happening, it was like she was in a horrible dream and just needed to wake up, except she couldn’t.

Exactly an hour after she’s been dragged to the dungeon. She hears heavy footsteps booming through the corridor leading to her cell. Natalie shrivels up in fear, her heartbeat thumping hard in her chest. She swallows hard, her palms clammy with sweat, her l*ps

parted slightly, her throat constricted with air. Her b*dy shook indescribably as the footsteps got closer and louder, she could barely see anything with how dark it was. She could move out the soft echoes of heels as they walked towards her direction.

A light gasp escaped her l*ps on seeing who had come to visit her. Eleanor. She stood still. her eyes scanning the filthy cell Natalie was in.

“It’s you.” Natalie voices out, her voice raspy, her throat dry and itchy, since she hasn’t been given a drop of water.

“What? Are you surprised to see me?” The other asks, tilting her head sideways, she stares at Natalie fully. A smirk came to rest at the corner of her l*ps.

“What do you want?” Natalie bites back, she watches as the lady inched closer to her, the iron bars still separating them though. Natalie watched her closely as she looked around.“You just don’t listen, do you, Natalie?” Natalie paused, a frown forming on her face at the woman’s words

“You wouldn’t be in all of this if you had just taken my advice. You would be a free woman if you had just listened to me and let go.” Her eyes hardened, and she suddenly gripped the iron bar of the cell, her eyes boring into Natalie’s almost manically. Natalie shrieked, flinching at the intrusion. Eleanor’s scent had grown bitter,

“W–what?” Natalie blanched. “I asked you. I told you to leave Luther, I told you he was mine. He’s mine, my mate, we were destined by the moon goddess. He’s meant to be my mate. Our souls are the same. Yes, there were slight hiccups in our plans but what did you think? Waltzing your way into our lives would make it easy for you. I told you, your time was temporary.” She began to laugh, it was hollow, void of any emotion.

“Have you forgotten? I warned you. I told you to enjoy being a Luna because it won’t last if you don’t let go.

You didn’t listen and look where it landed you.” She began to laugh again like she just said the most hilarious thing ever, flicking a stray tear away from her eyes.

Natalie stood there, eyes wide, her knees had grown weak, her mind trying to grasp anything it could. Eleanor’s words echo in her head over and over again. It clicked.

Her mind went over everything that had happened in the past days. She felt sick and not from the rottenness of her apple–peach scent. A bile rose up her throat. “Y–you did this.” Natalie croaks out shakily, her eyes filled with unshed tears. She flung herself forward, gripping the bars tightly, staring right at Eleanor. “Did you do this?” She screamed.

Eleanor leaned closer towards her, her face just inches apart from Natalie’s. Eleanor’s l*ps stretched into a maniacal grin that sent shivers down Natlie’s spine. A sick, twisted glint

danced in her eyes. It was a chilling expression, devoid of any form of sympathy.

“Yes,” Eleanor whispered.

Natalie crumbled to the ground, her knees weak, and a tear fell to her cheeks. She slowly looked up at Eleanor who had now turned and began to walk away, every nerve in Natalie’s b*dy screaming.

Two hefty guards stepped into the cell where Natalie was being held. “W–what, Where are you taking me to?” She asked weakly and disoriented, her scent had withered even more, and she could barely smell herself.

None of them speaks, instead she’s hauled like an animal and dragged out of the cell. They walk down the corridor they had come for. For a brief second, she hoped Eleanor had confessed. She hoped Eleanor had a change of heart and told the truth.

Natalie is dragged to the pack hall where everyone had gathered. Natalie is pushed roughly to the ground, her knees scraping the tiles harshly. Natalie whimpers in pain, a pitiful sound. She swallows hard, feeling the eyes of hundreds on her. She trembles, finally looking up. Luther sat on the throne, to his right was the beta and gamma, and to his left, like a venomous serpent, stood Eleanor.

Natalie’s knees throbbed with pain, and she winced, holding herself up the more. She looks up and immediately locks her eyes with Luther. His eyes which once were a source of warmth and solace now bore into her with icy detachment that sent shivers down her spine.

Eleanor stepped forward, her voice cutting through the heavy silence like a sharpened blade. “Behold the traitor. Your Luna, the one who has deceived all of us.” She sneered, extending her arm towards Natalie as if presenting a captured prey.

Natalie struggled against the sea of accusing eyes, her voice barely audible above the murmurs that spread through the pack. “I’m Innocent.” She managed to say.

“I’m being framed.” She looks at Luther whose eyes held an indescribable amount of hatred towards her. “Alpha, Luther, please. You have to believe me. Eleanor is manipulating_” Eleanor’s sinister laugh interrupted her plea, drowning it in mockery.

“Manipulating? You are one sick..” Eleanor doesn’t get to complete her words.

“Enough.” Luther’s deep voice cuts through the thick palpable tension. Eleanor backs down at the tone of his voice. Natalie’s eyes widen when Luther steps down from the throne, his

orbs boring into hers. “This is the only last chance you get, Natalie. This is your very last chance to confess to your betrayal.” He says. Natalie trembled, her eyes clouded with tears as she shook her head. “P–please Luther..” Natalie cried out just as Luther spoke.

“Do you confess to exchanging letters and letting the enemy aware of our plans? Do you confess to betraying the pack in the worst way possible? Do you confess to all of this?” He asks, his eyes void of emotion.

Natalie looked around in tears, their eyes judging her for what she didn’t do. Their eyes cursed her. She swallowed the lump in her throat, looking back at Luther.

“I am Innocent.”

Luther nods, leaning back up, and walks to his throne. Natalie shut her eyes close a tear seeping out of her eyes. She could hear the murmurs from the people and sobbed.

“Omega Natalie Sinclair. You are hereby stripped of all honors and reduced to a status worse than a slave. You will be stripped of all clothing and paraded around the town in shame for your betrayal to the pack and its people after which you will face the council of elders who will give a final verdict.” Luther’s cold voice cut through the charged atmosphere, each word striking Natalie like a merciless blow.

Natalie’s breath caught, her chest tightening with an unbearable weight. The air in the room grew suffocating. Her hands clenched tightly, she looks at Luther in the eye, a tear falling to her cheek.

“Take her away. You heard the Alpha” The beta voice boomed authoritatively. Natalie is quiet even as more tears fall down her cheeks, even as she hauled up to her feet like a criminal. Afterall, she is a criminal in their eyes.

She stood still, eyes on Luther, unblinking as her clothes were torn from her b*dy, Natalie hears the collective gasps of the people as her clothes disappear. She stood there, n*ked with even more tears leaving her eyes.

“Take her and let her serve her punishment. Let everyone know that this is what would happen to anyone who dares betray the pack.” The Beta spat out. Natalie looks at him for a brief second and then looks at Eleanor who smirks at her. Natalie clenched her hands into a fist, she could feel something bubbling inside of her, her orbs flashing a bright red just for a second and it was gone like it was never there.

Natalie’s grabbed by the arm and dragged out of the pack’s hall, Natalie stops outside the hall, looks up at the bright harsh sun, and blinks back the tears threatening to fall again. She swallows the lump in her throat. They began to walk, everyone and their mothers had

betrayed the pack. Natalie tried to drown their voices as she’s cursed out. “Die, you Someone yells at her, throwing a handful of mud at her. Natalie swallows thickly as more curses are thrown her way.

“Whore!” Another yells at her,

“Die and burn in hell!” She’s spat on.

Natalie’s throat tightened and she choked on tears that threatened to engulf her. out of the corner of her eyes, she’s pushed so harshly that she falls to the ground, landing in a pit of mud, her knees grazing some stones. She blinked rapidly, fighting to contain the flood of tears that blurred her vision as she pulled back up.

Her knees had grown weaker, barely managing to pull her through. She looks down as she’s cursed at heavily, her vision turned weak and filled with black spots. Her legs were heavy even as she tried to walk. Natalie stood still for a brief second, the world spinning before falling to the ground unconscious.

And when Natalie would wake up, She’d wake up in a pool of her blood .
