Luther stood by the entrance, his beta and gamma beside him, their heads lowered in respect to the stranger. Natalie watched as the council of werewolves almost fall on each other at the sight of the stranger, lowering their entire b*dy as though a god had blessed them with his presence.

The rest of the pack follows suit on seeing the Alpha and his advisors bow to the stranger. Natalie looks ahead, waiting to see who could cause this much reaction from the entire pack.

Luther steps aside to allow the stranger into the pack hall and she sees him. The stranger stood tall and commanding, his shoulders as wide as the river Nile. His sandy brown hair flowed graciously over his shoulders, his face, high cheekbones, and chiseled jawline that was deliberately carved by the goddess herself. Eyes as dark and piercing as the soul of a demon.

“Alpha Thorne.” Luther voiced out as the stranger walked past him, his every movement seemed deliberate, echoing the fluidity of a predator. ‘Alpha Thorne‘ his name spoke like it carried thousands of secrets no one could uncover. Natalie shrunk back on herself, stiffening when he walked past her, the hair on her b*dy frozen, his scent whiffed past her as she inhaled. Firewood, she’s reminded. A strange mixture of familiarity and unease washes over her.

The strange Alpha doesn’t stop walking until he takes two steps up to Luther’s throne and sits down, inciting a low gasp amongst the pack. His own pack followed him some feet behind. They also stood beside him, as an unspoken testament to his authority, just like Luther’s gamma and Beta had been with Luther.

The air in the pack crackled with an unspoken tension. The werewolf council who had once sat high and mighty to Judge Natalie now stood at the very same place she had been standing. Their posture bent with reverence and dread.

Natalie watched rather keenly, her matter had been discarded by the arrival of the alpha. Her eyes fixated on the commanding presence on the throne that made Luther and the entire council to bow. Alpha Thorne’s presence wasn’t just acknowledged, it was revered, filled with an insane amount of dread. It was as though a god a descended among them.

“H–How can we help you, My King.” Luther voices out lowly.

Thorne looks around the hall, his nose scrunched in disapproval. “It’s been more than two weeks.” His voice comes out deep, thick, and rich. He spoke with elegance.

Luther looks up at Thorne’s voice, his face runs slightly pale at the implication of Thorne’s words. He cleared his throat

“I- Yes, Alpha. We are trying to gather everything like you have asked.” He stammered, attempting to coveys but of confidence.

Thorne raises his eyebrows, his jaw locked, reflecting his dissatisfaction as he looks at the flimsy excuse for an alpha standing before him. “Gather?” He echoes, not missing the way the alpha staggers in his stance.

“W–We have gathered most of it. We humbly ask for leniency as we gather the rest.” Luther’s voice trembled as he spoke, bowing his head to the Alpha.

“Leniency?” Thorne echoes again, his eyes seemingly darker than it already was.

Luther looks up carefully as he nods “More time, Your grace. We ask for more time. W–We recently ran into some difficulties with a pack member who has been outed as a traitor to the pack. I know it’s a flimsy excuse for our shortcomings b–but..” he trailed off pathetically.

“A traitor? Who is the traitor?” Thorne asks and Natalie freezes, her heartbeat tripling, her b*dy going stiff with fear. The man who she had sacrificed her life for doesn’t waste time before dragging her out from where she stood with a rope tied to her wrists. He drags her out like an animal with no dignity.

The air in the pack hall grew heavy with anticipation as Thorne’s gaze fell upon Natalie. With a swift, heartless kick to the back of her knee, she crumpled to the ground, another bruise adding to the already visible marks on her battered form. She whimpered at the pain, and she ended up shaking.

She’s immediately reminded of a late–night conversation she had with Luther a while back. Thorne Ashbourne, his name had been mentioned like a curse to her. The immortal Lycan king. He’s been alive for centuries and is even said to have been alive during the first war between the wolves and witches. The first and only one of his kind. The Lycan king is feared all over the world, he was said to be the devil himself. If there was one thing the Lycan king asked for annually. It was his offering, he never missed it. Here, Natalie knelt without a shred of dignity left in her. She could hear Eleanor’s voice mocking her. The Lycan king himself would judge her for something she didn’t do.

Thorne leans forward, “Raise your head, and look at me.” He commands. The hair on Natalie’s skin prickles at the command. Natalie swallowed hard and slowly raised her head, trying her hardest to regulate her heartbeat even though it was a lost cause.

Thorne watched slowly as the woman slowly raised her head. Something about her made his alpha jump in place. It intrigued him. She raises her head and looks at him. Their eyes stuck on each other, His eyes slowly growing darker the more he stared at her. It made Natalic prick with fear consuming her, a shiver running down her spine. He wasn’t just looking at her, he was looking into her bare soul.

Thorne reeled back in slight shock as their eyes met, his alpha had shot up at the sight of the woman, her Hazel eyes drawing him in, almost drowning. ‘Mate‘ his alpha chants in his head.

Thorne blinks and looks at Luther, his eyes filled with even more clarity than earlier. “Bring all your offerings to me.” He commands. Luther nods quickly, glancing at his beta who is quick to go do his bidding. He felt exhilarated at the fact that the Lycan King was willing to take the offering he had for now and not mind that it wasn’t full like he was used to taking.

Not less than Two minutes later, The beta walks in with five slaves, three young and agile- looking men, and two women women who looked like they had just had their coming to age ceremony. In their hands were large baskets each with bags filled with different things.

“Here they are, My King,” Luther says, a smile evident in his voice as he presented his offerings.

“I want her, too. Add her to them.” Thorne points to Natalie.

Natalie’s jaw falls open, nothing but a whistling sound going off in her ear, his words echoing in her head over and over again. Luther whips his head at the Lycan king, shocked. The entire pack goes silent At Thorne’s words, Eleanor stands up from where she sat, her eyes wide with panic.

“W–What?” His eyes traced Thorne’s pointed finger to Natalie and he staggers just a bit, his face running pale.

“Her?” Luther asks again just to be sure he heard wrong. The Lycan King cannot possibly want someone as low as Natalie.

Thorne cocks an eyebrow up, l*ps pursed with dissatisfaction. “Do you dare refuse me?” He shoots at the man who immediately lowers his eyes, shaking his head.

“Never, your grace. I- I’ll immediately ask that she’s..” he doesn’t get to complete his words

as Throne stands up from the throne, everyone lowering their eyes at the sight of the king.

“Take them all to the car.” He orders and starts to walk away, ignoring the panicled voice of Luther as he tries to keep up with his strides but is actively blocked by his gamma. Natalie is roughly grabbed to her feet and dragged behind the Lycan king as the other offerings.
