The Moon Inn is smack dab in the heart of the city, and the view from up here is killer. You can see the whole city blanketed in snow.
Isaac sidled up to her from behind, his arms snaking around her waist, giving it the occasional rubdown.
After a while, a black ride cruised up.
The car stopped, and the door swung open
Out stepped a man in a slick black suit, and trailing behind him was a lady all dolled up. Too far to see her face clearly.
But she gave off a chilly vibe
Seeing her lightly dressed, Randell’s eyes filled with concern. “Didn’t I tell ya it’s cold out? You should bundle up more”
The woman chuckled, “Randell, I’m here to help you out. Don’t you think you should play the gentleman and offer me your coat?”
Randell was left speechless.
“I know you’re a neat freak. Let’s get going”
The woman gave a resigned smile. Who else would brave the cold if they didn’t go way back?
She gracefully straightened up and walked behind Randell. We’ve known each other for ages, and you’ve never mentioned who we’re meeting for dinner. Is it someone you’re into?”
With each solid step he took, Randell’s character was revealed.

As they entered the Moon Inn, Randell asked for Brittany’s room and led the woman toward it. Just as he was about to open the door, he paused. “She’s a good friend of mine.”

As the server pushed open the door, Randell shed his icy demeanor and put on his usual warmth.

The man next to her was in a grey shirt, looked noble and aloof. His large hand was on her waist, eusing her pregnancy-induced back pain. There wasn’t much PDA, but the love between them was palpable
This was Randell’s first time meeting Isaac
He was just as the dossier described, incredibly attractive and perfectly civil. No wonder Brittany fell for him.
Instantly, the woman felt the tension in the air. The next second, Randell gripped her hand tightly, “Let me introduce you. This is my fiancée, Reese”
Reese was puzzled.
Weren’t they just supposed to be having dinner together? How did she suddenly become his fiancée?
Brittany’s eyes widened. The next second, she shrugged off Isaac’s hand and marched up to Randell. “Why didn’t you tell me you had a fiancée?”
Seeing the surprise and confusion in her eyes, and the fleeting joy, Randell knew he had played his cards right.
He clamped down on Reese’s hand and looked at her warmly “We just made it official, so I brought her to meet you.”
Reese quickly caught on and played along. “Hi, I’m Reese.”
‘Miss Reese, I’m Brittany.”
As Isaac walked over, Brittany introduced him. This is my husband, Isaac.”
Randell gently let go of Reese’s hand, shook isaac’s, and said, “HI”
