She swallowed hard and then said, “Brittany, I’m warning you, you better watch your back!” 

With that, Joie stormed off, slamming the door behind her. 

Brittany watched her go, a glint of gloom flitting across her eyes. 

Joie’s only lifeline was the Salter family. Without their favor, she was nothing.

After work, Brittany got a message from William saying he was home. He told her to get some rest and that they would

“Sure! I have a friend who just opened a bar. You up for it?” Hannah was eager to spend more time with Brittany. 

Brittany agreed. 

When it was time, Brittany showed up at the bar. 

Hannah was already there. Seeing Brittany, she immediately dragged her inside, “This is my friend’s bar. It’s pretty swanky. They have a fashion show every night.” 

Hannah was a seasoned party animal, her eyes sparkling with excitement 

Brittany gave a soft chuckle. She couldn’t care less about the fashion show. She just wanted to chat with Hannah. 

They found a quiet corner and sat down. Hannah ordered her a fruity cocktail. It was sweet and sour but packed quite a punch.

The man chuckled coldly and said, “My dad’s the head of Palmer Constructive Inc. You’ve met him before.”

That was the Palmer family business. 

Brittany had crossed paths with the Palmer family before. This guy clearly came prepared. Brittany stepped back and said, 

“Since you’re Mason Palmer’s son, we’re acquainted. There’s no need to make this unpleasant, right?” 

“We know each other?” James Palmer laughed mockingly, grabbing Brittany’s hand, “Either you spend the night with me, or I’ll have my dad ruin you. Without the Salter family, you’re just a woman. You think you can stand up to the Palmer family?” 

“James!” Hannah was frantic.
