This new arrangement seemed to irk Hana.

Hana sneered, inwardly judging anyone who couldn’t even keep a child as unworthy of marrying Mr. Salter. 

As the conversation drifted to other matters and Hana drank more than intended, she caught sight of a few men entering the bar. 

Among them was Isaac, who looked like he’d come straight from Grandeur Capital, still wearing his crisp white shirt with his suit jacket casually draped over his wrist. Even in such a place, he exuded a regal presence that was hard to miss. 

Surrounded by several good-looking men, they stood out in the crowd. 

Quickly touching up her makeup and spritzing her mouth with breath freshener to ensure she was presentable, Hana approached them. 

Isaac had planned to spend the evening with Brittany, but Wesley had dragged him out to the bar for a “friends’ night.” He had been about to decline when Derek called Brittany, who insisted Isaac go out and have fun, just to be home early. 

Isaac, buried in work and under immense pressure, could use a drink to unwind. 

As they entered the bar and Wesley booked a private booth, the group paused while Wesley took a call. 

“How’s Bri doing?” Derek asked, not feeling comfortable asking Brittany directly. 

“The naturopath said she’s still a bit weak, needs to recuperate,” Isaac replied. 

“You guys really dropped the ball, huh? Not noticing the pregnancy for over a month?” Derek chided. 

Isaac grimaced with a mixture of frustration and regret. “We were always careful. Who would have guessed…” 

It had happened just that once. 

Derek, aware of the sensitivity of the issue, rubbed his forehead. “Let’s not dwell on it. I haven’t told Grandma to avoid her rushing back from abroad. Take good care of Bri, and spend time with her so she doesn’t fall into depression.” 

It was crucial to pay attention to a woman’s mental health after a miscarriage. 

“Mr. Salter, what a coincidence,” a flirtatious female voice called out just as Isaac was about to respond.
