Penelope rocked up to the Blue Mountain Estate the next day 

She parked her car at the entrance, and then followed the address Linda had given her, walking into the estate. 

As she stepped out of the elevator, Penelope knocked on the door, but Allison wasn’t home Just at that moment, the door across the hall swung open, and her neighbor gave her a look, asking, “Ms. Zimmer, did you leave your keys at home or something?”

Penelope didn’t usually like being compared to Allison, but at this moment, she chuckled, “Margo, you’re pretty sharp.” 

Penelope went to the property management, saying she forgot her keys and needed the spare. Sure enough, the staff didn’t bat an eyelid and handed her the spare key. With the key in hand, Penelope opened Allisons front door. 

She told Margo to wait outside while she stepped in to have a look around. The living room was nicely decorated; it seemed Allison and Jason were indeed close. 

She entered the bedroom and started rummaging for a necklace Miranda had mentioned. Even though Allison wasn’t into jewelry, because she was tight with Daisy whose family were in the jewelry business, Daisy would often gift her pieces. 

She found a few necklaces, but none were the one she was looking for. She was in search of ao agate necklace. 

She pulled open Allisons bedside drawer, and there it was…

A grin spread across her face as she quickly snatched up the necklace and carefully put everything back as it was, then slipped out of Allison’s place. 

“Margo, return the key to the property office” Penelope said. 

Seeing the smile on Penelope’s face, Margo knew she’d found the necklace. 

Back at her place, Penelope hung the necklace around her neck. It looked pretty good. Although it wasn’t high-end, it was used to wear it. That Allison, she’d been hiding this necklace! 

If she hadn’t been so quick-witted this time, who knew what Allison might have done behind her back.

The previous night, Allison had been on the night shift. After work, she went to Mercy Grove Hospital to visit Grace, Grace had woken up, which was a huge relief 

She got home at around 11 in the morning. She picked up some breakfast on the way home and went straight to bed, sleeping until the afternoon. Allison was awoken by her phone ringing. “Okay, I got it.” Allison shoved her phone back under the covers and dozed off again. After waking up, she glanced out the window and saw the setting sun. It was already 5:20 in the afternoon. 

She took a shower and changed her clothes. She was going to Jesse’s birthday and couldn’t just go without makeup. 

The Santos family was always good to her, and Daisy helped her out a lot. She put on a beige corduroy dress, but it felt a bit plain. She was going to add a brooch for a bit of flare, but then she paused. 

She’d been busy with work these past few days and hadn’t worn any jewelry. Why were her necklaces rearranged? She hadn’t touched them, had she? 

Daisy’s family was in the jewelry business, and a while back they’d released a line of crystal pieces. Daisy had given her a couple of bracelets and several pairs of earrings, which she liked to arrange by color. 

But today, something was off.
