Chapter 403 

“Mom, where did you go today?” Allison asked, slightly surprised. 

Grace replied, “I just went grocery shopping.” 

Allison said, “The fridge is already full.” 

Grace knew she couldn’t hide it anymore and said, “I went to the hospital.” 

Allison bit her lip gently. 

Grace continued, “Penelope had an accident, and I was worried, so I went to see her. Allie, I watched her grow up, and despite her being a bit stubborn, she isn’t a bad person.” 

“She’s not bad? Have you forgotten what she and Leah did to us? Have you forgotten who locked you up in a mental hospital? Do you know how they threatened me?” Allison said, her voice filled with the pain of losing a child because of them. 

Allison closed her eyes, unable to forget the loss of that child. 

“Mom, I know you’re kind, but their reaction to your kindness was heartless.” Allison said. 

“Allie.” Grace murmured. 

“Mom.” Allison walked over and hugged Grace, resting her face on Grace’s shoulder, “I just want you to be healthy. That’s enough for me.” Grace held Allison tightly and said, “Allie, I promise you I won’t go anymore. I’ll stay at home and wait for you every day.” 

“Mom, I will work hard to earn money. When I have enough, we’ll find a better house, and I’ll find the best hospital and medicine for you. I just want you to be healthy and be with me forever.” Allison said. 

“Sweetie, how can a mother be with you forever? It’s time for you to find a boyfriend.” Grace said. 

“No, I only want you to be with me.” Allison said. 

In the evening, Allison arrived at the movie theater. She didn’t intentionally come late; she had been at home tidying up the room with Grace and lost track of time.

Allison looked around. It was Sunday, and the theater was crowded. The outside seating area was almost full, but she didn’t see Lucian. 

Did he leave because she was late? 

Allison bit her lip lightly, standing on her tiptoes and looking around, feeling a bit disappointed. He really left. 

Allison took out her phone and dialed Lucian’s number, but he didn’t answer. Was he angry because she didn’t arrive on time, or did he think she did it on purpose? 

Allison sighed lightly and walked over to a arcade machine, staring at the dolls inside. She exchanged ten game coins, but she failed to catch any of them and there was only one coin left. 

Well, she had offended Lucian, and she couldn’t catch any dolls either. 

Allison looked at the last game coin in her hand. 

She inserted it, and the machine started running. Suddenly, a hand reached from behind, holding her hand, and Allison was enveloped in a familiar scent. She was slightly stunned. She could naturally recognize this familiar scent. 

It was Lucian. Had he not left? 

The man held her hand gently and controlled the machine. One of the dolls dropped down. 

Allison picked it up excitedly. “You really caught one.” 

“It’s nothing. It’s just that you couldn’t do it.” Lucian said, holding another game coin in his hand. He effortlessly caught another doll. 

Allison looked at him, “Did you not leave?” 

“Yes, are you happy?” Lucian looked at her, “Are you not mad at me anymore?” 

Allison bit her lip lightly, “How could I dare to be mad at you?” 

“Do you like them?” Lucian bent down and picked up a doll, “If you like them, I’ll give them all to you.
