Just thinking about it, she immediately dialed Leah, but the call went unanswered.
She hurriedly hailed a cab, making a beeline for the Flanagan family. She practically jogged into the mansion and upon seeing Margo, she sprinted towards her, demanding, “Where’s Leah? Where is she?”
Margo frowned deeply, scolding her sharply. You impudent girl, you think you can call the mistress by her first name?”
Allison spun around, her eyes usually so humble and innocent, now filled with rage, “Spill it!”
The cold gaze sent a shiver down Margo’s spine.
“At Sunset Hotel” Margo stuttered, feeling a strange sense of fear, looking into Allison’s icy eyes, “Mr. Lindberg is hosting a birthday party for Miss there. The master, the mistress, and the Miss are all there…”
Before she could finish, Allison was already on her way out.
Meanwhile, at the Sunset Hotel.
This was the most luxurious hotel in the entirety of Northfield, with the penthouse suite costing a whopping 180k per night. Today, the fourth young master of Lindberg Corporation, Lucian, had booked out the entire Sunset Hotel, spending a fortune, all for his fiancée Penelope’s birthday.
Penelope instantly became the envy of every heiress.
She was dressed in a custom–made, 16 million pink lace gown, looking like a shimmering, dreamy princess.
A group of heiresses clustered around her, green with envy.
Penelope received hundreds of precious gifts, too many to fit in one room that day.
With champagne in hand. Penelope accepted everyone’s well wishes with a satisfied smile.
“Oh my God, Mr. Lindberg really spoils Penelope. Isn’t this a bit much for just a birthday party?”
“Yeah, spending millions on a birthday party, talk about extravagant!”
I’m so jealous of Penelope. The Flanagan family is just an ordinary family; who would’ve thought she’d become the fiancée of a member of the Lindberg family
Hearing these words, Penelope’s smile widened. The more the heiresses envied her, the happier she was. She loved this life of being the center of envy.

Invitation in hand, Allison stormed into the banquet hall and, after a quick scan of the room, finally found Leah.
Leah was chatting with two wealthy ladies, a bracelet adorning her wrist.
Allison squinted her eyes, and no matter the occasion, she stormed over and shouted, “Leah!”
Leah’s face paled at the sight of Allison.
“How did you get in here?” She was caught off guard momentarily before regaining her composure and turning to the two wealthy ladies, saying, “This is a friend’s daughter. She probably has some urgent matter. Excuse me for a moment.”
Being savvy, the two ladies glanced at Allison and smiled, “We won’t disturb you then.”
Once they were out of earshot, the gossip began.
“Look at that woman. She’s dressed like a pauper.
“Leah said she’s a friend’s daughter. I don’t buy it
“Oh, you know what, she does look a bit like Leah”
“I never noticed before, but now that you mentioned it, she resembles Penelope and Leah too.”
“What if she’s Leah’s illegitimate daughter?”
“Stop; if someone hears us, we’ll be in trouble.”
