Chapter 1375

The sadness in her voice was so profound that it left her throat raw and hoarse.

Richard had arrived with Zephyr and the others, and it was only natural that he’d leave with

them, too.

“When you called David, I happened to be right there with him. Hearing that Lysander was in danger, I just had to come along. Now that they’ve gone to do everything possible to save Lysander, there’s no use in me going too.”

Richard’s words were eerily calm.

Thalassa looked up at him, her eyes brimming with tears, her heart a mix of anxiousness and hope, as she asked, “Zephyr can certainly save him, right?”

Lysander couldn’t die. He just couldn’t. How could such a strong man like him possibly die?

She couldn’t bear the thought of losing him.

“It’s not certain, but he’ll try everything in his power to,” Richard replied to Thalassa.

Zephyr’s world revolved around Lysander; he had poured his soul into nurturing him, and Lysander was his pride and joy. He would undoubtedly leverage all his connections and influence to save Lysander.

As for the outcome, Richard wasn’t one to speculate.

Hearing Richard say that Zephyr would go to great lengths to save Lysander, T

a tumult of emotions inside her: relief and hope, yet also a suffocating distress.

Relieved that Zephyr was there to do everything in his power.

Hopeful that Lysander would recover.

Distressed that Lysander, who always seemed invincible, had been so grievously inj trying to save her.

Thalassa couldn’t express the guilt that weighed on her conscience.

She was teetering on the brink of sorrow, oblivious to Richard’s gaze fixated on the string of jade pearl around her neck.

“Where did you get this jade pearl?” Richard finally gave in to his curiosity and asked.

The main reason he hadn’t left with Zephyr was to learn the origin of the jade pearl.

Startled by his question, Thalassa took a moment to register what he had asked.

They had just been discussing Lysander, and now Richard had abruptly shifted the topic to her jade pearl. She struggled to keep up with the sudden change.
