Claire’s bright mood instantly darkened when she heard Alice’s name. “Call the police!” 

“It’s useless, Miss Donovan.” The receptionist sounded like she was going to cry. “She’s standing outside the doors, not inside the building. She also hasn‘ t done anything except for shouting your name. Strangely enough, the more people there are to stare at her, the more enthusiastic she is about the shouting. She’s now kneeling by the doors and saying that she’ll keep shouting until you agree to talk to her.” 

Claire knew better than anyone how difficult Alice could be.

Alice did not care what they said about her. Her only goal was to force Claire to appear.

father! Clarissa is your sister! Just focus your hate on me. Please spare

While it was an apology, it was an implicit accusation of Claire being extremely ungrateful and cruel to the point where they were being forced into

Claire sneered. “The Donovans still own 25% of my mother’s company. Your should be grateful I have not taken them back yet. What? If you’re used to 

being a freeloader, you can ask Adam to come attack me again.”
