Chapter 24-Rose

Wallace popped us into Patti's apartment. She was working with a client, and they both shouted. I looked at her, shock starting to set in.

"I don't know what to do!" I turned back to Thatch and touched his face. His breathing was raggedy, and his eyes had begun to swell.

"What happened?" Patti dropped to her knees beside Thatch.

"We told Biggs and Henson about what's been happening. Biggs jumped across the counter and attacked him. I started feeling all kinds of emotions and realized some belonged to Biggs. I think he's my mate too." My words ended with a sob.

Patti started touching Thatcher's face. She felt his wounds, checked his breathing, and, I think, examined his aura.

She looked to the other woman in the room. "Get me a bowl of hot water, clean rags out of the bathroom, salt ash from the herb cupboard, and a blanket. Quickly, Mary."

She wrapped around mine, and I looked away from Thatch's battered face. "Do you have someone you can call?"

I shook my head and got up. Then, grabbing her phone from the dock, I dialed the only number that came to mind.

"This is Linus."

"Daddy." My voice shook.

"Where are you?" His tone was severe.

I took a couple of breaths to steady myself. "I'm at home but in Patti's apartment."

"I will be there as quick as I can." The phone went silent.

Patti was smearing a black powder onto Thatcher's face. Mary wrung out a rag and handed it to me.

"Wipe your hands off, dear. Then I want you to sit down." I took the rag and wiped my mate's blood from my hands.

I plopped down on the couch and bounced my legs. Mary came over and wrapped me in a blanket. I closed my eyes and started humming. I don't know what song it was, but it helped slow my breathing. I kept them closed until Linus got there.

Linus barged into the room and came to me. He knelt in front of me and took my face in his hands. "Are you hurt?"

I could only shake my head.

"It was the dragons. This one here is her mate, and from what she told me, it is much more complicated than even I knew. I have a healer on the way. He'll help with the shock."

Linus looked back at Patti. "That boy can barely breathe. She may be able to help." He turned back to me. "Baby, I think you can help him. I need to know have you had sex with him?"

"We, we haven't yet." I didn't know an answer could sound so desperate.

He squeezed my face. "Any type. Not just vaginal. Anything that could have made you orgasm."

"Last night."

Linus stood and pulled me to my feet. "Ok, good, that will work."

He let me over to Thatcher. "Kneel here and put your hands on his chest. We're going to try to transfer some energy to him."

"I can't, Daddy. I'm human. I don't have any type of power!"

He knelt next to me and put a hand on my shoulder. "Rose, you can." He paused. "I haven't wanted to tell you. You have some succubus abilities. Not the uncontrollable ones, but the few beneficial ones we have. Immunity to one another's abilities, and I am sure you can share your energy to heal. You can help him."

I sniffed. "What do I need to do?"

"Good girl, you can do this." Linus squeezed my shoulder and shook his head.

I looked down at Thatcher. Hang on, I'm going to help you.
