Chapter 256 

Lillian was at a loss for words. She looked gloomy, as she wanted to hide the fact that she and Callum were a couple as much as possible. 

She did not want to have too much impact on her life after they broke up. 

If her parents hadn’t accidentally known about Callum, she would not even want to tell them. 

“Haha, I-I’m afraid it will disturb him at work.” Lillian could only make up an excuse. 

“Aren’t you afraid to disturb Rosie?” Jonathan asked. 

Lillian was stunned. Rosalie hurriedly replied, “I don’t mind.” Then, she said to Lillian, “If something happens to you in the future, you must come to me. After all, you’re my most important friend.” 

Lillian felt warm in her heart. While nodding, she glanced at Jonathan, who was sitting beside Rosalie, through the rearview mirror. From his tone a while ago, Lillian felt a sense of jealousy from him toward her. 

She wondered, “Is Jonathan jealous of me? Because of Rosalie?” After a thought crossed her mind, Lillian could not help but shiver. 

Lillian felt unbelievable that the powerful man in Strico, Jonathan, was jealous of her. 

However, it seemed that it did happen, and he was jealous at the moment. 

When the car arrived at the entrance of Lillian’s residential area, so did another vehicle. Lillian felt that the car was somewhat familiar. Then, she abruptly realized that it seemed to be Callum’s.

noticed Jonathan’s car. He got out of the car and walked over to Jonathan.

“I called you. Why didn’t you answer it?” he asked.

Callum glanced into the car and asked, “Why did they send you back?” 

“Well… It’s a long story,” Lillian answered sullenly. 

At that moment, the car glass window was slid down. Jonathan said to Callum in the car, “If you’re indeed her boyfriend, don’t let her be bullied.” 

Callum was stunned, but Jonathan ordered the driver to drive off before the former could react. 

In the car, Rosalie could not help but ask, “Did you say that on purpose?” After all, he was not a nosy person. Under normal circumstances, he would not say the last sentence at all. 

“Yes, I did,” Jonathan admitted frankly. 

“But why?” She was confused. 

“So that she won’t trouble you again. Since Callum is her boyfriend, he should be responsible for her as her boyfriend,” Jonathan answered. 

Rosalie said, “I don’t mind at all. I just helped to bail her out. Besides, Lillian helped me so much back then. So, I’m willing to help her every time she needs help.”

Even though he knew it was just a friendship between women, he still could not suppress the jealousy in his heart. 

“Rosie, how important is she to you?” he asked as he stared at her. 

“Very important!” she answered without hesitation. 

“Is she more important than me?” His voice was filled with jealousy. 

She was stunned and said, “You guys are incomparable.” 

Jonathan was the person she loved, and Lillian was her best friend. Those two feelings she had toward them were unrelated. “But…” She thought for a while and added, “You and her are the people I can protect with my life. So you guys are both important to me.”

Jonathan wondered, “However, why can’t I be the only one important to her?”

After all, she was afraid he would dig out more information about her if he investigated it personally.
