Chapter 564 

It turned out that to her, they were just a mistake. 

“The woman whom I love the most in the world is asking me to let her go. Is there anything more sarcastic than this?” Jonathan mocked himself. 

“Okay, I’ll let you go.” He heard his own voice saying, “From now on, we have nothing to do with each other anymore!” 

No matter what kind of relationship they had, whether it was love or whether she was Rosie, did not exist anymore. 

Just like the two parallel lines remained as parallel lines at the end. 

Calvin took Rosalie back to her rental home. She hadn’t gone back for a week, but there were not many changes in the house, except that some dust accumulated at some places.

Rosalie gasped and Calvin added, “Rosalie, I can wait. As long as you don’t fall in love with other men, I can keep on waiting.” 

“What if you can only wait for the rest of your life?” Rosalie asked. 

Calvin smiled faintly. “It might not be that bad if both of us are not married for the rest of our lives.” 

Rosalie felt suffocated by his statement. For a moment, she didn’t know what to say anymore. 

Calvin got up. “Well, you haven’t been back for a week. I’ll help you tidy your house. Otherwise, it might be very dusty when you sleep tonight.” 

“It’s okay. I’ll do it myself,” she responded hurriedly. 

“What? Are you afraid that I can’t do my job well with just a hand?” Calvin added, “I can do a lot of things even if I can only use one hand.” 

Calvin started to clean up the house. Rosalie was speechless. She couldn’t stop Calvin at all, so she cleaned up with him for a while. 

Then, she boiled a kettle of water and handed him a glass after the water got warm. 

He accepted the water and suddenly said, “As far as I remember, this is the first time you took the initiative to offer me 

water.” 

“Huh?” Rosalie was stunned. 

“Look, this is something that has never happened before. It doesn’t mean that it will not happen in the future.” Calvin always gave people a sense of indifference and alienation, but at this moment, when facing Rosalie, he was showing a rare tenderness. “Just like you, maybe in the future, you might really fall in love with me, right?” 

After saying that, he raised his head and gulped down the glass of water in his hand. Then he continued, “Should I send some men to protect you? To prevent Jonathan from taking you away again.” 

“There’s no need.” Rosalie shook her head. “Since he has declared the end of our relationship today, I don’t think he will come looking for me anymore.” 

Calvin stared at Rosalie for a moment and then nodded slightly. “Okay then. It’s late already. I have to go back first. If something happens, just call me anytime.” 

After Calvin left, Rosalie smiled bitterly. Her phone was apparently still with Jonathan. 

The last time she was locked in Jonathan’s house, he took away her phone. She had never seen her phone again after that. 

It seemed that she had to report the loss of her SIM card tomorrow and reapply for a new one. She should buy a new phone 

too. 

It didn’t cost much to reapply for a new SIM card, but it’s different with a new phone. Just as she was pondering about the price of a new phone, there was a knock on the door. 

“Did Calvin turn back?” Rosalie thought. She stood up and opened the door of her rental home. 

To her surprise, Carlos was standing at the door. 

“Hello, Ms. Leighton. Here is your phone. Mr. Youngblood has asked me to return it to you.” Carlos handed the phone to Rosalie. 

Rosalie took the phone and Carlos left without saying another word. 

Back in her house, Rosalie turned on her phone. There was still a little battery left. She saw many missed calls, most of which were from Lillian and some from people in the firm.

As soon as Lillian received the call from Rosalie, she was so thrilled. “Did you escape from Jonathan? Did you get hurt? Where did Jonathan bring you to? Did he do anything to you?”. 

The string of questions made Rosalie feel Lillian’s concern. 

“He didn’t do anything to me,” Rosalie replied. “Besides, I don’t think he will do anything to me anymore from now on.” 

“What do you mean?” Lillian was shocked. 

“It should be impossible to continue with our relationship anymore,” Rosalie said faintly. 

“You…” Lillian wanted to say something but stopped. She felt that Rosalie’s voice was calm but there seemed to be something else. “Are you really okay?” 

“I’m okay. All right, I’m just calling to check in with you that I have returned to my rental house. Things like before won’t happen anymore in the future. There’s not much battery left on my phone. I’ll hang up first,” Rosalie said. 

After Rosalie ended the call, she checked her phone again. It was no different from that before Jonathan took it away. The only difference was that a photo had been deleted. 

A photo of Jonathan when he was little had been deleted. 

Before they broke up, she saw his childhood photo album. She had taken a picture of the photo with her phone then. 

Later, she broke up with him. She had deleted his phone number, but this photo had always been on her mobile phone all along. 

And now, this photo has been deleted. It was Jonathan’s way of telling her that he had nothing to do with her anymore! 

It was not that bad, actually. It was a clean break up. She can avoid any emotional entanglements. 

“The man who called me Rosie. The man who said he loved me. Eventually, it was just a memory.” Rosalie laughed at herself. Her eyes were drooping slightly while looking at her feet in a daze. 

When he knelt in front of her, kissed her instep, and made a promise, it’s not that she was not touched. She actually had thought of getting together again with Jonathan.
