It's a Dog's Life

Scott woke from his afternoon siesta, stretched, scratched his ears vigorously then attended to his personal hygiene, which involved licking his private parts thoroughly. When he had finished, he wandered over to the water bowl and lapped thirstily at the water.

Roxie was sitting at the huge table, on which stood a steaming mug of tea and a plate piled high with biscuits, ready to dunk. Scott was feeling hungry and watched longingly as Roxie took a biscuit from the plate, dipped it into her tea, and stuffed it into her mouth, a process which she repeated until the plate was empty. She then picked up the mug of tea, drained it, and burped loudly with satisfaction.

At this point, Scott found himself salivating uncontrollably until lengths of sticky drool dangled from each side of his mouth, forming pools on the tiled floor.

Roxie picked up her mug and plate ready to take them over to the sink, when she spotted him. “Oh you filthy creature, get out of my kitchen now,” she ordered, opening the door and shooing him out, before attacking the floor with a mop as if her life depended on it.

That woman is dog phobic, if anyone is disgusting it’s her. I mean, fancy dipping all those biscuits into her tea and then drinking it, even I wouldn’t do that, Scott thought, as he ran out of the open door with Nettie dashing after him, and straight into Zilla.

“Looks as if you two could do with a good run,” she said, walking into the kitchen and reaching for their leads.

“Something has got to be done about those dogs,” Roxie wailed. “I’m telling you now, it’s unhealthy, should never be allowed.”

“Oh Roxie, can’t you give it a rest. You’re just going to have to get used to it!” Sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ FindNøvᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

After galloping through the fields, chasing birds and rabbits with Nettie, Scott lay down on the soft lush grass beside Zilla. While she stroked him gently, his thoughts returned to Hugh. He had never much cared for him before, but now he positively despised him.

I will have to save Eemay from such an evil person, but how? I must try to think of some way to communicate with her, but in the meantime, I will continue to show my dislike of him in the only way I can.

I wonder if my changed state will be permanent. I really don’t want to spend the rest of my life as a dog. Surely it must be reversible?

In his mind he went through the events leading up to his transformation. He remembered opening a new message from Eemay, thinking she had sent him some photos of Nettie, and it was at that precise moment that the physical changes had first started to take place. He then remembered Hugh’s telephone conversation with someone called Vilelet, and in particular his question to her, “did the spell go through?”

That’s it! Vilelet must be the witch he used to send a cyber-spell through, by hacking into Eemay’s personal cymail address, knowing that I would be sure to open it.

All the pieces of the jig saw were starting to fit together in Scott’s mind. If only I could communicate?

“Come on you two,” Zilla shouted, getting to her feet. “Time to get back.”

Oh joy, Scott thought. Back to that bad tempered old hag in the kitchen, but I needn’t worry because I know Eemay and Zilla will look out for me.
