Chapter 28

I tried getting up but a body was on top of me.He choked me hard and I coughed. Why was he trying to kill me! I struggled in his hold "let me go!" I said in anger.

His Hazel eyes squinted at me in confusion. I suddenly stopped moving as I looked at him curiously realizing he was definitely not one of Alarics men although he was dressed in leather pants and shirtless. He looked more human, if he was a beast like one of them he would definitely not be trying to hold me down and kill with such a struggle. I would be dead already.

"who are you?" I asked

He didn't let me go as he got up, looked behind us before dragging me with him "stop talking" he said in a weird accent, he was not English at all. It seemed like those words were foreign in his mouth. He also did not have any ink on his body.

"you are human" I stated the obvious as I held my bag tightly, he had not taken it away from me

"and so are you" he said looking at me, "you should not be"

He led me off track as we turned left "why? You should not be trying to kidnap me either. Where are you taking me?" I asked and he pushed my back against a tree. He covered my mouth with his hands, his body was literally against mine in such an intimate way. I tried moving but he was stronger despite being human.

Looking at him up close he was quite cute it was a shame he had just tried to murder me.His hair was curly and a nice shade of chocolate brown. He had a few freckles on his cheeks and nose. He was also tan, tall and fit as well.

I heard rustling of leaves then it was silent again."your scent and your mouth will get us caught. I tried to kill you... I had no idea you were just a dumb human running around looking like one of them"

"Let me go!" I suddenly said in anger, I was not dumb.He released my hand with a flinch as if I had burnt him. I scrunched up my eyebrows at him.

"witch?" he said almost silently

I scoffed at the insult "well fuck you" I said kicking his manhood while he was distracted before running off.

My body did not feel tired anymore all I knew was that I had to get away from danger. Probably the man who tried to kill me, what a dick. I screamed as I got tackled again,today was not my day. This time I was surrounded by Alarics warriors, I held the bag tightly and looked up at the sky on my back with a smile. I noticed that the warriors were a bit alert and some stayed behind.

I did not read much into it all I knew was that 'I had lost the game thank goodness'.

We arrived and I was glad to see Vera and her mother smile. If I was an angry jealous person I would have hated them badly but that wasn't me. All I wanted was to go back to my people. I also wanted to find out if there were more humans in the forest, maybe they could help me and my people. This meant looking for the man who tried to end my live back there. So I would have to keep him a secret,these creatures didn't have to know that I lost because I almost got murdered.

Alaric marched towards me, he did not look happy at all. In a second everything went crazy. His warriors shifted into wolves and disappeared into the forest. I thought he was going to say something or even hit me but he went past me and shifted into his wolf tearing his pants. He also disappeared into the forest.

Honestly I widened my eyes in shock. Vera's smile had dropped and so had her mother's smile. Everyone was staring at me. Sasha grabbed my hand and led me to one of the tents. She was pacing, I looked at her in confusion "what is going on?"

She stopped pacing "you reek of another male. I could smell his scent all over you from miles and your neck is covered in bruises Aria.This is very bad."

Oh shit...I thought touching my neck. I flinched, it stung like hell. I hadn't even realized that I was hurt. I sat on a chair and looked up at Sasha. I really hoped they would not catch him because I needed him. He was the only person that could help me find more humans around here.

Sasha shook her head and grabbed a wet cloth "who did this to you? Did they touch you" she asked worried as she put the wet cloth on my neck and I flinched. It really did hurt more than I thought it would.

I knew what Sasha meant, she was worried I got raped. "No he didn't touch me in that way. He just choked me and I kicked him then ran as fast as I could"

"that means he was human. I knew we shouldn't have let you go in alone but nobody ever listens to me. They keep forgetting that you do not have the abilities that we have" she said sitting on a chair in front of me with a frown

I licked my dry lips "I didn't think there were humans around here after being captured by your kind"

"humans do exist, they hide and cover their scents well in the forest. They have existed for ages. Sometimes they plan attacks in their tribes and some tribes let us be. They exist in silence and we also let them be" she explained "humans are not a threat to us, it is our own kind that we worry about most of the time"

I was about to say something but I immediately went silent when Alaric literally budged in completely naked with pitch black eyes.
