"I haven't replied to the message yet." Melody thought it would be rude if she did not reply to Sherman since he had helped her. Thus, she wanted to get her phone back to reply to the message. Nonetheless, she was frightened by Lucas' expression.

"Fine. I'll eat first."

'A wise person doesn't invite trouble,' thought Melody. With Lucas looking so displeased, pushing further might provoke his anger again. Thus, it was better to do what he said and once he was feeling better, she would ask for her phone back.

She decided to drop the phone issue, and Lucas' expression softened slightly.

Stella found the interactions of the two particularly irritating. She did not expect Lucas to be so concerned about Melody's behavior.

'Have they become so intimate in such a short time? I've spent more than a decade trying to get him to be closer to me, yet Melody gets it so quickly! D*mn it!
