Beatrice gripped her phone so tightly that her knuckles turned white.

"What on earth happened?"

Cedric was also on edge. Judging by his wife's expression, he knew something was seriously wrong. To make matters worse, not knowing exactly what had happened left him even more uneasy. "Let's go! We need to pack up and head to Central Hospital right now." Beatrice hastily packed up her things.

Cedric followed behind, asking, "Why are we going to the hospital? Who had an accident?"

"It's Melody! She had an accident on set. Oh, my poor child!"

Cedric immediately packed up his things when he heard that.

The two of them quickly had the driver take them to the hospital where Melody was being treated. When they arrived at the emergency room entrance, they saw Shaun and the producer waiting for them. "Why are all of you standing here like doormen?" Beatrice's anger was at its peak due to how worried she was for Melody.

Shaun stepped forward to explain, "I'm very sorry. There was an accident during a scene where Melody was underwater. It's all my fault. I should've noticed that she had been underwater for more than thirty seconds."

"Underwater? Don't you consider the risks before shooting? Don't you know how scared Melody is of water? How could you let her go underwater?"

Beatrice's simple rhetorical question left Shaun speechless.

"Actually, it was Melody who chose to do the scene herself. She didn't want to use a stunt double," explained the producer awkwardly.

After all, no one wanted to see this outcome. Melody herself had wished to perform the scene without a body double. How could they solely blame Shaun?

Beatrice remained silent after hearing that. A minute later, she asked everyone to leave while she and Cedric stayed by Melody's side.

"Hey, you shouldn't have spoken up for me just now. Old Missus Rivera is obviously blinded by anger. I mean, I would be too if my granddaughter-in-law went out fine in the morning and found out she's lying in a hospital room."

Beatrice remained outraged for a long time since she had no place to vent her anger. To think that their granddaughter-in-law ended up needing an oxygen tank, and yet they dared to question her?

She took a deep breath and walked to the stairwell with her phone in hand. It was obvious from the expression on her face that she was going to call Lucas.

Cedric shook his head, continuing to watch Melody lying there in stillness.

"Hello." The voice on the other end of the phone sounded lively.

"You brat! What are you doing right now?" asked Beatrice with suppressed anger. The angrier she felt, the calmer her tone became.

"I'm negotiating a deal right now. What's up, Grandma?"

"All you do is work, work, work. Do you even know that your wife is lying in the hospital room hooked up to an oxygen tank?"

"What?!" Lucas sat up abruptly. "What happened to Melody?"

Beatrice scoffed. "Oh, so now you're concerned? I'm going only to tell you that she's in a critical condition. Whether you come back to see her or not is up to you!" Lucas held his head. He did not expect Melody to end up in the hospital after he had only been gone for a couple of days.

"I'm going back now!"

He could not sit still as soon as he heard that Melody was lying in the hospital.
