Lucas thought that Melody should act if she wanted to act. However, he would not allow a repeat of what happened.

He was aware of the public backlash against Shaun's crew, but managing public opinion required patience. The most effective time to clarify things would be when public negativity peaked. Lucas had already planned ahead. He knew deep down that Melody would never give up acting.

He went home to get some casual clothes for Melody. As he got out of the car, Thalia came running toward him.

"Lucas, you're back!" Thalia seemed to be in a good mood. She hugged his arm, wanting to walk inside together. However, Lucas calmly withdrew his arm.

"Lucas, you must be tired from taking care of Melody in the hospital," Thalia said.

"No, you stay here. I need to talk to Lynette about something."

Thalia frowned, insisting on going with him. "What are you going to talk about? Can't I listen? Do you know how boring it is for me alone at home?"

It was not a big deal, and she could certainly listen, but when she mentioned being bored at home, Lucas hesitated.

"How about I arrange for you to go back to Molomia? I'm going to stay busy for quite a while and won't have time to take care of y-"

Before Lucas could finish his sentence, Thalia burst into tears. Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the Findɴovel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Panicking, Lucas asked, "Why are you crying again? Did I say something wrong?"

Thalia remained silent, staring at him stubbornly with teary eyes.

"I thought you find it boring here, so I thought maybe going back to Molomia would be better for you."

"No. It's not good at all! You're not thinking about me at all. You just find me troublesome, right? Sending me back to Molomia means you won't have to see me or make time for me. You just want to get rid of me, don't you?" Thalia exclaimed.

Lucas felt a bit helpless. After all, Thalia was the one who mentioned being bored. He was thinking that since she did not have many friends in the country, and given the years she spent in Molomia, returning there would provide a more comfortable life since she would be surrounded by familiar faces.

To Thalia, it sounded like he was finding her troublesome and wanting to send her away.

"I thought you might feel a bit out of place here. Your friend Quinn is on school break too. She can keep you company in Molomia while I can't. Wouldn't it be better for you to go back?" Lucas reasoned. Thalia wiped her tears angrily. "Fine, I understand. You just find me troublesome! Don't worry, I won't bother you anymore. You can go do your own thing! I'll book a flight back on my own." Even though she wiped her tears once, Thalia's tears continued to flow like an opened floodgate.

Lucas frowned, unable to understand why she was crying so much.

"When did I say I want to send you back? Thalia, don't be unreasonable. I have other things to attend to right now," Lucas said with a serious tone, the first time he had spoken to her like that. This time, Thalia was genuinely hurt.

She pitifully looked up at him and asked, "Lucas, do you really find me that annoying?"
