"I'll be relying on your magical touch today, Evelyn," said Melody.

Evelyn waved her hand. "Oh, these dark circles of yours are nothing to worry about. Your face saves me so much work on ordinary days. Even after staying up all night, your complexion is enviable. Look at this face; it's still so radiant. Now I understand what they mean by 'genes determine beauty.' No amount of cosmetic procedures could match this face."

Melody blushed shyly.

Evelyn was a very cheerful young woman, and every time she saw Melody, she would passionately praise her complexion, and Melody would graciously accept the compliments.

By the time Lucas arrived, Melody's makeup was almost done. He appeared at the set silently, catching everyone off guard with his unannounced presence. Some observant crew members quickly reported this to Shaun, while Lucas casually grabbed someone and inquired about Melody's whereabouts.

"Miss Melody is currently having her makeup done in her own dressing room," the crew member replied.

Immediately after learning Melody's location, Lucas swiftly made his way to her dressing room. This place was familiar to him as he had visited it many times before.

Evelyn was chatting and laughing with Melody when suddenly the door burst open. The man who entered caused Evelyn's eyes to light up, but the next moment, she recognized him and immediately averted her gaze.

The smile on Melody's lips slowly faded as the two locked eyes through the mirror. Lucas frowned slightly. 'She's so much thinner,' was Lucas' first thought.

Although there were no visible dark circles or swelling on Melody's face anymore, she appeared delicate and not overly done up. However, Lucas sensed weariness in her eyes, even though she wore a smile on her face.

Lucas remained silent, and it was Melody who eventually broke the silence.

"Evelyn, my makeup is almost done. You can leave now, and I'll look for you later," Melody said.

"Okay, sure!" Evelyn placed the brushes she was holding on the table and quietly slipped out, thoughtfully closing the door behind her.

With a click, the room was left with only Lucas and Melody, enveloped in a profound silence.

"Is this what you meant by taking care of yourself?" Lucas walked over to Melody, grabbing her arm and gesturing. Even her wrist was thinner than before.

Melody impatiently pulled her hand away.

"The role requires me to look like this! Look, I'm sitting right in front of you just fine, aren't I? So, how am I not taking care of myself? Plus, what brings you here today?" Melody retorted, trying hard to hide her emotions, but Lucas could still sense a hint of anger and frustration in her words.

Lucas frowned. Despite missing her so much, he had so graciously given her the freedom she sought by not going to the dormitory to see her.

'I did everything she asked for, so why was she still angry? Shouldn't I be the one angry?' Sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ FɪndNøvel.ɴᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

"What's wrong with you? Do you really not want to see me that much?" asked Lucas.

Melody scoffed. "Oh, who wouldn't want to see the great Lucas Rivera? It's just not a good time for your visit. I'm about to start shooting, so I don't have time to talk to you. If there's nothing else, please leave." "Why won't you look at me?"
