Melody even wanted to ask Lucas why he looked at her like that. Did everything change because Thalia came back? However, deep down, she knew that she would have lost once she asked those questions. No one would be more pitiful than her.

In a relationship, the one who loves more often finds themselves in a passive position. She had already fallen into such a dilemma, and she did not want to be a bigger embarrassment.

However, when she was alone, she could not help but curl up and cry. She could not help but wish she could turn back time to start all over again, back to the point where she had not fallen for Lucas. In the hospital ward, Thalia turned away, still furious with Lucas.

She could not understand why Lucas would believe Melody so much. Clearly, she had suffered such serious injuries because of that woman, yet Lucas was still speaking up for her. All of this made her increasingly disgusted with Melody. There must be some trickery involved. Otherwise, why would Lucas, a smart man, not believe her?

Perhaps it was because she was not convincing enough, so Thalia decided she needed a few people to speak for her.

"Don't worry, I'll definitely make sure you get justice in this matter. You rest for now. I'll go buy you something to eat. Whatever you want, just tell me, and I'll have Lynette make it for you," promised Lucas. Thalia immediately turned back around to face him, "You better make good on your promise, Lucas."

Seeing that Thalia was finally willing to talk to him, Lucas felt slightly relieved. "I'll go out and buy you something first."

However, just as he was about to leave the ward, he suddenly received a call from Beatrice.

"What's wrong, Grandma? Is everything okay?" Lucas asked.

Beatrice's concerned voice came from the other end. "What's going on? I've called you several times, but you didn't pick up the phone! Your grandpa and I were worried sick. We were so afraid that something had happened to you kids. Did you help tidy up Melody's place when you went there today?"

Lucas rubbed his nose sheepishly. That caught Beatrice's attention.

"What's the matter with you? I asked you to help Melody tidy up a bit. Her foot hasn't fully recovered yet, so there's no way she can clean up her place alone. How could you forget such an important matter?" Beatrice was furious. She herself would have gone to Melody's dormitory long ago if it were not for Cedric and Lucas stopping her.

Through the phone, Lucas could faintly hear his grandfather's voice. "Well, we only stopped you from going because you have a cold! You wouldn't want to pass it on to Melody, would you? Think of how inconvenient that would be if Melody got a cold in her state."

Beatrice rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah. You and Lucas are always right. I don't care. If you don't go help Melody tidy up, then I'll pack my bags and go stay with her for a month. I'll make sure she's fully recovered before coming home."

Beatrice was always decisive, and with so much happening, Lucas did not want her to disturb Melody.

"Please, Grandma. The set is filled with too many people, and there are so many things going on. Don't go to Melody's and make things more complicated." Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the Find ɴøᴠel.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.
