Melody used to think she was not good enough, and that was why her parents liked Wendy more. However, later she realized there was nothing wrong with her. She did not need to be exceptionally special for anyone to like her.

Unfortunately for Thalia, she had not anticipated that Melody would tell Beatrice what happened, leading the latter to piece together the string of events that really happened that night.

"Melody, I was a bit upset when you didn't come home, but now, I agree that it's better for you to stay here for the time being. You have my word that I'm going to get to the bottom of this matter and give you an explanation, okay?" Beatrice said.

She then stood up hastily, eager to go home to start the investigation.

Melody could not help but worry. "Grandma, how about you stay here tonight? It wouldn't hurt to wait until tomorrow morning. After all, it's been a while since the incident, so you might not necessarily find evidence even if you go back now."

However, Beatrice was insistent. "I should go back sooner. Who knows, I might still find some evidence. I must find out what that woman did to Lucas' drink."

Only a despicable person would use such despicable means to sow discord between Lucas and Melody. Thalia's impression in Beatrice's mind plummeted even more.

"I know you're eager to give me an explanation, but Grandma, I'm not in a hurry anymore. After all the explanations you've given me, I realize I've misunderstood Lucas. Plus, it's getting late, so it's not safe to go back now," Melody said.
