Even though Quinn claimed not to care about family ties, she ultimately could not bring herself to harm her relatives like Thalia did. Moreover, despite Thalia sometimes not treating her very well, deep down, she truly considered her a friend. After all, they had known each other for so many years.

When Quinn first found out about the incident, she could not sleep for three nights. Her dreams were filled with what Thalia revealed in her sleep.

'Maybe Thalia only said all those things because she was having a nightmare,' thought Quinn in a bid to soothe herself.

The question of why Thalia resorted to harming her sister remained an indelible shadow looming over Quinn's mind. Finally, she could confront Thalia face-to-face about it.

"You don't understand anything. You wouldn't know the pain I've endured all these years. I've told you that knowing too much won't do you any good. Stop asking me if you want to continue being my friend! Otherwise, as you should know by now, I've already taken a life, and I wouldn't mind adding one more to my tally."

Thalia's threat did not faze Quinn in the slightest. "Is that so? Do you believe that if I were to shout loudly enough, your beloved Lucas would come running out here and see your true colors?" Thalia could not take that risk. Everyone knew Lucas was her weakness. She could not bear the thought of Lucas' reaction if he were to learn the truth.

That was why she had been laboring hard to keep this matter hidden from him for so many years. Thalia had regretted it countless times for not having stayed by Lucas' side. Everything would have been different if she had stayed.

Thalia knew well enough that Lucas had harbored some feelings for her sister back then. However, there were no 'ifs' in this world, and she did not have the luxury of regrets. To win the man she loved, she had to eliminate obstacles and create bonds that would make Lucas feel responsible for her.

"I don't understand how you could do something so cruel to your sister! Weren't you afraid that she'd come to haunt you for the rest of your life when you did it?" Quinn questioned coldly.

Thalia simply smirked. "So what if she did? I warn you not to bring up this matter again. Otherwise, there's no saying what I'll do to you. Even if it means Lucas finding out, I won't hesitate to act if you cross me."

Thalia's evil smirk sent chills down Quinn's spine. It was a smirk devoid of fear as if there was nothing in the world that could intimidate her.

Quinn kept stepping back until she could not stand it anymore. Finally, unable to maintain eye contact with Thalia, she hastily ran downstairs.

Once Thalia was out of sight, Quinn sighed heavily, clutching her chest. "That woman is too terrifying! I must move out as soon as possible! Otherwise, who knows what she'll do to me..."

Quinn sadly reflected on how her longtime friend could turn against her so suddenly. What frightened her the most was knowing that Thalia's hands were stained with someone else's blood. However, there was little she could do even if she knew about it.

Thalia's confidence stemmed from the fact that she had destroyed all evidence from back then. In fact, Quinn would never have suspected that Thalia was not really Thalia if it weren't for overhearing her talking in her sleep. As for evidence, Quinn could only infer from subtle clues, but she could not do anything about it. No wonder Thalia was so smug.

"Miss, are you alright?"
