The Demon Prince's Possession
Chapter 9 – Blue Flame

Allegra

A woman held me close, rocking me to sleep with a gentle lullaby. The words echo in my head on repeat.

I couldn’t make out the words, only the song’s sweet melody.

I couldn’t see her face, only a silhouette of a woman I felt strangely comfortable with.

My mother, perhaps?

But I wanted to see more.

I wanted to hear more.

So I pushed, wanting answers.

Until everything went bright and my eyes peeled open.

It was a memory.

I knew it was.

But what triggered it?

Last I remember, I walked through the palace doors with Cerberus, then glancing over at Grace and a woman I had never seen before but seemed strangely familiar at the same time.

The next thing I remember was an immense headache that quickly magnified. Insufferable heat travelled through my whole body, and a searing pain erupted from my shoulder down to my elbow.

Then I passed out.

I slowly sat up in bed, still feeling a slight pressure in my head. The area between my shoulder and elbow was still a little sore, as though torched with a gentle flame, and sensitive to touch as I gently tried to soothe the area.

I went to take a look and lift my sleeve until Cerberus walked in, carrying a tray of what seemed to be freshly boiled soup and a glass of orange juice.

“You’re awake!” he spoke softly, hurrying to my side and placing the tray before me.

“How do you feel?” he asked.

“Like I was buried under a ton of bricks,” I chuckled, trying to lighten the mood.

“Do you remember anything?”

“Only snippets of what I could only assume was my past life, but nothing is clear or coherent,” I admitted forlornly.

“Is that for me?” I gestured to the tray in front of me.

“Yes, I thought you might be hungry if you woke,” he replied.

“How long was I out for?” I asked.

“About 12 hours.” I gasped.

“Eat up; you need your strength,” Cerberus said before standing to exit the room.

“You’re leaving?” I asked, a little too disappointed.

“I should let my mother know you’re up; Calcus might have something to help with your headaches.”

“Thank you for trusting me,” I admitted.

Cerberus gave me a confused look but soon realised what I was talking about.

“Celia would be proud of you,” I finished.

He smiled, “You would have liked her. I think you two would have gotten along very well,” he grinned before leaving me alone in the room.

I finished my soup like I had been a woman starved for months.

Feeling full and satisfied, I hobbled towards the bathroom, needing a warm, soothing bath to calm my nerves.

I untied my dress, letting it fall to the floor. Just as I was about to climb into the bath, I noticed something on my upper arm, exactly where the pain had erupted from before.

It was small, hardly noticeable, but definitely there.

A blue circle encompassed the top of my shoulder. I brushed my fingers against it, hissing from the stinging sensation.

What was it?

I wanted to call to Cerberus, but then I thought better of it.

He had enough going on as it was. I shouldn’t need to burden my worries on him, especially since I was the one who was supposed to be helping him.

Maybe it was a sign that the sealing bind placed on my memories was finally breaking?

I’ll tell someone, just not right now.

I was feeling fresh and revived. Having dressed in a long cream dress, making sure to conceal my shoulder, I headed towards the kitchen in search of something to eat. My appetite had returned since I had the soup Cerberus had made me; having not eaten for half a day would do that to you.

I saw one of the kitchen helpers preparing lunch. She instantly offered me a fresh plate of stew, which I happily gulped down.

“Someone’s hungry,” she joked.

“Sorry,” I apologised nervously.

“No need to apologise. Here, I made some pumpkin pie for dessert, but I suppose I could spare a plate before dinner.”

I happily accepted as she placed a freshly steaming piece of pumpkin pie before me.

I inhaled the delicious scent, closing my eyes as though reminiscing old memories…

“Mamma, this one looks good. I think it would go perfectly with Father’s Pumpkin pie!” I squealed.

“Then that’s the one we’ll use. Come, Allegra, let’s get back home before the sun sets…”

I opened my eyes and almost fell from my chair at the sudden memory.

It was similar to before; I couldn’t see anything, only blurred outlines of people. And that woman’s voice was with me, the same one I heard singing me a lullaby in my dreams before I woke.

“Are you okay?” the helper asked, looking slightly worried.

“Yeah. Thank you for the pie, but I forgot there was somewhere I needed to be,” I said hurriedly before rushing out of the kitchen.

I was in search of the library. Surely there would be information on what was happening to me and maybe explain this strange mark.

That’s when I felt it; the area in my upper arm began to prickle with warmth.

I pulled back the collar of my dress to look at my shoulder, only to see the blue circle had now evolved. Coming from the circle was a long, vine-like shape snaking further towards my elbow.

“Allegra?” I heard a voice and instantly released my dress.

“Grace?” I called out.

“Is everything okay?” she quizzed.

“I forgot the way to the library. It gets a little boring doing nothing most of the day, so I was hoping to find a good book to read.”

“Sure, let me take you,” she answered softly.

“Thank you.”

“How are you feeling?”

“Y…yeah, never better,” I lied.

I didn’t want anyone to know about my mark until I could understand everything myself.

We walked down the hall until we reached two gigantic oak doors. Grace pushed through the doors. I was immediately struck by the grandeur of the library; I never knew so many books existed.

As I made my way around, my eyes fell upon a glass cabinet display just above the fireplace.

“That is the Archangel blade. It is something of a war memorabilia from long ago. That and it is dangerous if it falls into the wrong hands.”

I walked closer, inspecting the shining silver and gold designs reflecting back at me. It was truly magnificent.

“I will leave you to it; if you need anything, do not hesitate to ask,” Grace said before leaving me alone in the grand library.

Once I knew I was alone, I took another peak at my arm to see the mark had not extended further.

This must be a sign my memories were coming back.

If so, maybe there was something I could read that might trigger my memories or at least explain what was going on with me.

With that, I began my search. Before I knew it, the sun was starting to settle.

I was curled up in the corner of the leather sofa, engrossed in a book about Seers and their gifted magic, until I came across a section labelled ’Ancient weapons against the Demonic’.

I couldn’t help but take a sneak peek. I flicked through the pages until I came across a dagger, the same one I could see from the glass display, sitting comfortably above the fireplace.

‘The Archangel Blade can kill any Demonic being. It has the power to prevent the Demon from healing; no matter how small the wound, the Demon’s fate would be sealed.’

I was about to flick to the next page for more information until the door opened and in walked Cerberus.

“Hey,” I called out, removing my gaze from the book.

“You’ve been here for hours; what are you reading?” he asked.

I had noticed that his golden orbs had remained since our talk about Celia. When he told me the reason behind his Demon’s control.

“Just some information about curses and binding spells. I was hoping something could help me.”

“I have an idea,” he sat beside me on the sofa, pushing the book down into my lap, “Why don’t we go out and have a look around town for real this time?”

“I have a better idea. If my memories are to return, then I should go to the place where it all started.”

“The cave?” he responded.

“Yes, could you take me?”

“Sure, but we should leave now. It would be better to go whilst we have natural light.”

I stood from my seat, neatly placed the book on the shelf, and headed outside with Cerberus.

Like before, he held me in his arms as he spread his magnificent silver wings and took to the sky. I couldn’t tire of being up this high, watching the people down below and feeling the wing beating against my face.

We finally reached the cave. I headed in first, careful of where I stepped.

“Anything in particular you were looking for?” he asked.

“I was hoping just being here might trigger something,” I replied, my words bouncing off the hollow cave walls.

I walked towards the cave’s centre, where the little light breached through a hole in the roof of the rock.

The light shone on numerous thin, weirdly shaped scattered rocks, almost in a perfect, unnatural circle.

I knelt on the ground, plucking one of the pieces of rock off the ground and inspected it. I closed my eyes as something deeply rooted in the back of my mind resurfaced.

“If you need to stop me, then do it. I cannot risk the lives of everyone because of what he did to me...

“If I need to be stopped for the sake of this, then so be it. Do what you have to.”

“Your special Allegra, this should never have happened to you,” a woman sniffled, unshed tears pricked her eyes. “I love you, Allegra”.

I snapped my eyes open.

That woman from my memories earlier was with me in my last moments.

But what did I need to be stopped for?

She said she loved me?

Who was she?

I felt a soft touch on my shoulder, “Did you remember something?” Cerberus asked hopefully.

“N…No, nothing,” I don’t know why I lied, but I did.

That’s when I felt the gentle burn of my upper arm begin to spread.

I could feel the intricate details of the blue mark snake lower on my arm; I didn’t need to see it to know it had grown.

That means I am one step closer to revealing who I am.

“I have an idea; why don’t we go to the tavern tonight. Ella and Robby opened up a new place in town I think you might like?

“It will be a good distraction for you.”

I nodded, “Sure, sounds fun.”

We exited the cave and travelled towards the tavern the same way we had left the palace; in the air.

The night was alive; the full moon looked bright and bold, standing in the centre of the sky.

“We’re here,” Cerberus said, placing me on the ground.

As we entered the large tavern, Cerberus lifted his hood to conceal his face.

“What are you doing?” I questioned.

“Most still fear me; I would rather keep a low profile than cause a mass outcry,” he replied lowly.

“Fair enough,” I responded, then headed towards the bar, where I was greeted by Robby and Ella.

“Hey, didn’t expect to see you two here,” Ella shouted over the bustling crowd and thrumming music.

“Here, my special concoction for two of my favourite people,” Robby winked as he passed over an arctic blue drink to Cerberus and me.

I took a sip and instinctively moaned, “This is delicious,” I screeched.

“He’s a master at the art of alcohol,” Ella beamed proudly.

Throughout the night, I had ordered a few more of those colourful concoctions from Robby, each one more sweeter than the next. An hour later, I was swaying towards the exit of the tavern with Cerberus beside me, equally as merry.

I stumbled on the last step at the bottom of the entrance, but just before I could fall and twist my ankle, a hefty arm reached around me and pulled me close towards a solid chest.

“Oops,” I laughed, clutching Cerberus’ chest.

“Let’s get you home,” he sniggered before lifting me into the sky and back towards the palace.

We reached his room in no time, but I wished we could have stayed out in the open air, snuggled into his bare chest a little longer.

I plonked on the side of the bed, splaying my arms out above me on the overly soft mattress, and released a sigh of contentment.

“That was fun; we should do it again,” I declared, slightly sober than before, thanks to the fresh air I had received on my way here. “Have I ever told you how soft your bed is? It’s dreamy, like laying on a bundle of soft feathers.”

From inside the wardrobe, Cerberus chuckled, “I don’t know what was in those drinks Robby gave you.”

“Heaven in a glass, that’s what,” I replied merrily.

Cerberus came out, half-dressed in a pair of grey sweats and nothing to conceal his muscled chest. It took everything in me to rip my eyes away from him. I could feel my body heat and a light pressure tingle between my legs.

Damn, what was in those drinks…

I stood, headed towards the wardrobe, and undressed into a long-sleeve nightgown. My mark had grown almost four times as big as when I last saw it. I decided to cover it; the colour was becoming so bright and bold it could be caught through my nightgown. So I quickly grabbed a short, white arm warmer, concealing the upper part of my arm.

I exited the wardrobe, ready to climb into bed, until I saw Cerberus lying on the Loveseat in the corner, his feet dangling off the side and his stature resting in what looked like an uncomfortable position for someone of his size.

I looked between Cerberus and the bed. I couldn’t let him sleep there, not knowing it was his room. I would suggest sleeping in another room, but truth be told, I didn’t want to be anywhere alone, not right now.

“You can sleep in the bed,” I spoke softly.

“It’s comfortable here,” Cerberus answered whilst awkwardly shuffling into a semi-comfortable-looking position.

“We’ve slept in the same bed before. Besides, I can’t let you sleep like that. This is your room,” I moved towards a side of the bed and climbed in beneath the covers.

“Are you sure?” he asked.

I responded by pulling back the other side of the duvet.

He made his way over, joining me in the bed. Biting my lip in thought, I realised this would be the first time we slept in a bed together without me passing out beforehand.

I tried closing my eyes but failed to fall asleep, knowing he was right beside me. This time seemed different from all the times we had been in this bed together. I seemed different. My hands were a little shaky, and my breathing was much faster than usual. Not only that, but a nagging heat that didn’t seem to go away kept growing in the pit of my stomach.

I turned to my side, facing Cerberus, with one hand under my cheek.

“You’re amazing, you know that?” I suddenly spoke with liquid courage without realising.

He turned to face me, his golden eyes staring back at me.

“So are you,” he spoke softly, his deep voice sending gentle vibrations through the bed.

“What if I turn out to be some dangerous woman, or a psychopath or even a mass murderer?” I jested with a giggle.

“Never,” he replied, turning on his side to face me, a tasty smirk playing on his lips.

“How can you be so sure?” I joked playfully.

“Because”, his fingers brushed against my cheek, causing my breathing to hitch, “You are too benevolent and considerate to be a psychopath or mass murderer.”

The tension in the air thickened; with his heightened hearing, I had no doubt that he could hear my fast-beating heart, which only made the blush on my cheeks grow harder.

“You forgot dangerous?” I teased, but my voice was getting quieter, and I could feel my body inching closer, as did his.

“Never,” he spoke, his lips gently teasing mine.

“And if I was a danger to you?”

“I would bring you back to me,” he answered, his lips moving against mine.

“Promise?” I breathed.

“I promise.”

I wanted to taste him so badly, so I took the plunge and kissed his plump lips.

At first, he was still, unmoving. I tried to pull back in embarrassment until his hand snaked around my waist and the other behind my head. He attacked my lips with possession, and I felt my body respond in need.

Before long, he ended up on top of me, his large body trapping mine beneath his. I instinctively ground my hips into his groin and let out a light moan as a teasing tension flickered between my legs.

My hands gently clawed at his back causing his hand resting on my cheek to hold me in a firm grip. I reached the waistband of his pants and slipped my thumb through, slightly pulling it down.

He pulled back and held the hand that outlined his waistband.

“Are you sure?” he asked, his breathing just as erratic as mine.

“Yes, are you?” I bit my lip as that growing tension in my core developed by the second.

“I was sure the moment I saw you; I just didn’t realise until now.”

With that, his lips attacked mine a second time, only this time they started to travel lower and lower until his kisses trailed all the way down to the area between my legs.

He looked up at me from between my thighs, his golden orbs flashing brighter than ever before, as he tortuously slipped my panties down my legs and onto the floor.

His hands gently tugged on the sides of my nightdress, my core wholly exposed to the nipping night air. I watched, entranced, as he slipped his head between my legs, and the most world-shattering explosion thrummed through me.

His tongue gorged on my pussy, before focussing on the little bud at the top. My whole world came undone as a feeling like no other erupted through me. I gripped the sheets with tight fists, my back arched as I came for the first time. My head was fuzzy when I came to, and Cerberus was already completely exposed. I gulped as his member stood tall and proud, larger than I expected him to be.

He climbed over me, lust evident in his eyes as he slowly removed my nightdress. He rubbed my arm and looked at me wearily, where I had the arm warmer.

“It’s nothing, just a little cut I had from when I collapsed,” I distracted him from asking any more questions by wrapping my hand around his large cock.

I wanted him. More than I realised.

Having no memories and feeling completely lost and alone, Cerberus was my constant, always there for me, making me feel whole.

“I need you,” I whispered sweetly.

His lips danced with my own as his fingers travelled down to my core, slicking his hand with my juices and impaling me with two fingers.

I gasped at the new sensation as he slowly moved in and out of me, but wanting more, I rocked my hips.

He took his member in his hand after removing his fingers, lined up with my opening, and then slowly entered.

The pain was unlike any other. This was definitely my first time, but eventually, his small strokes began to bubble a completely welcoming and foreign sensation inside of me.

I lifted my hips, allowing his arm to snake behind me to hold me up as he entered me agonisingly slow.

Before long, his strokes became hard and heavy thrusts, sending me into another wave of bliss as I squeezed around him. Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the FindNøvᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“You’re so tight, Allegra. Have you ever…” he asked between broken breaths.

“I… I don’t think so,” I stuttered just before I came again, but this time, my orgasm heightened as his member expanded and his seed erupted inside of me.

We both came undone; I screamed his name as he continued his thrusts, allowing my orgasm to pulse out of control.

He collapsed beside me before pulling me over his chest with his arm snugly meandered around my waist.

“I think I’m falling for you,” Cerberus spoke barely above a whisperer.

I was too tired to respond; all I could manage was a bright smile, but secretly, I knew I was falling for him too.

Sleep overcame both of us before long; not wanting to be anywhere else but here, in Cerberus’ arms, I drifted off into a sweet slumber.
