“Hayley! I heard that you’ve finally divorced that useless Wyatt! This is such good news to come back to!” A well dressed woman laughed joyfully.
She was Lucy Mills, Hayley’s cousin and the assistant manager of Hayley Pharmaceuticals.
Ever since Hayley had gained success, Maya had arranged for Lucy to assist Hayley in the company.
“Lucy, actually…” Hayley had wanted to confide in Lucy but then she thought better of it. She knew that it would eventually reach Maya’s ears the next day.
Lucy patted Hayley on the shoulder and said, “Hayley, trust me. I’ve always encouraged you to get a divorce. That loser was holding you back. Without him, you’ll soar even higher.”

“I heard that Hayley Pharmaceuticals is on the Moores‘ shortlist for collaboration. Our chances will be even higher if Hayley makes her presence known to their senior executives.”
“I’m almost moved to tears hearing this.” Lucy said, her eyes sparkling with admiration.

The admiring looks and compliments boosted Hayley’s confidence even more. She held her head high with pride.
Hayley, however, had no time for their flattery. Her focus was immediately shifted to a figure on the side
of the road.
It was Wyatt. He stood beside a luxurious car.

Seeing Wyatt stirred a whirlwind of emotions in Hayley. Despite her hesitation, she approached him.
Wyatt stood tall and composed, his features chiseled and stern.
Hayley felt a little unfamiliar with him. His cold demeanor was a stark contrast to the gentle man she
once knew.
“Wyatt, what are you doing here?” Hayley asked.
Wyatt turned around to look at her, unfazed. “Ms. Lawson. My presence here is none of your concern,” he
answered calmly.
Hayley was undeterred by his attitude. She pointed to the luxurious building in front of them. Im
attending the Moores banquet. Things are going smoothly at Hayley Pharmaceuticals. If everything goes well, we’ll secure the Macres contract tonight”

Wyatt’s response caught Hayley slightly off guard. She had hoped bitterness or desperate pleas to reconcile, but Wyatt seemed unfazed
“Oh, who do we have here? It’s Hayley’s useless husband. Oh no, I meant useless ex–husband.” Lucy chimed in sarcastically as she walked over with William.
“I had told you to divorce Hayley earlier but you had no self awareness. Now that you’re kicked out, you’re panicking like a lost dog. You should’ve known better from the start.”
“Which of your eyes saw me panicking?”
“You’re so stubborn. How could a worthless loser like you dare to set foot in such a prestigious place like the Tivoli Mansion?”
“What are you doing here again? Wyatt asked indifferently.
“We’re here to attend the Golden Banquet hosted by the Moore family.” Lucy bragged, brandishing her invitation. “Take a good look. This is an exclusive invitation from the Moores, reserved for the elite in
