"Why are you angry?" Ranita looked up at Brendon hoping for some relief from this endless tug-of-war between them.

"We're not officially divorced yet," said the man calmly as he applied ointment onto her wound. "Any husband would be unhappy seeing their wife eating with another man."

Ranita felt another pang of pain in her heart at these words.

"After our divorce cooling-off period is over, will you regret it?" She asked tentatively causing Brendon's hand holding the cotton swab paused mid-air. His thick eyelashes fluttered open revealing cold black pupils shining like deep pools of ice water.

Ranita's heart trembled slightly at this sight.
