The Divorcee Who Shines
Chapter 181 Cousin

Chapter 181 Cousin

For Allen, this was like a bolt from the blue.

"Sister-in-law, I'm done for! I'm done for!" Allen was panicked. "Brendon is going to kill me!"

Ranita couldn't help but laugh and tease him. "What's the difference between being killed today or tomorrow? So him coming today or tomorrow doesn't make a difference!”

"You can't say that! As a rich and good-looking nobody, every day of survival counts!"

Allen's handsome face fell. "My life is over!"

Ranita felt sorry for him and tried to comfort him. "Brendon went to the branch company, so you're safe for now.”

"What? He went to the company?" Allen didn't relax at all and immediately felt dizzy. "How could he be so ruthless? I'm his cousin after all! He didn't even come see me first before going to find trouble with me at work!" Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the FɪndNovᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Ranita held back her laughter.

"That's right! If you keep acting rashly like this, Brendon will really send you off to another country!" Ranita wanted to scare Allen into behaving himself before he got hurt!

But Allen refused to go anywhere else.

"Sister-in-law, please save me!" Allen grabbed her hand and begged her pitifully. "My life is in your hands now! You have to protect me!" Ranita slapped his hand hard enough that it made him yelp in pain.

“If Brendon gets angry with you and beats you up, there's nothing I can do about it." She paused briefly before continuing reluctantly. After all... Allen probably didn't know about their divorce yet; otherwise he would have already rushed back home like a firecracker!

"What else were you going to say? Why did you stop?" Seeing Ranita looking downcast made Allen worry even more. "Did something happen between you and my cousin?"

Allen didn't really believe it though.

Brendon treated Ranita with respect as if she was royalty; she tolerated everything Brendon did without complaint - there was no way they could ever fight!

"Nothing happened! Just tired from flying." Ranita brushed off his question then asked concernedly, "How's your hand doing? Is it better now? If something had happened why wouldn't you call us right away?! You're too brave sometimes.”

It wasn't that he wasn't willing — he just couldn't bring himself too!

Allen was the eldest son of Brendon's uncle. He grew up being doted on but unfortunately lost his mother due to illness. His father, also grieving, passed away not long after, leaving Allen alone and destitute. Fortunately, he had a close relationship with Brendon from a young age and became Brendon's loyal follower. After Brendon became the head of the Stuart family, Allen naturally rose with the tide.

“I didn't want to trouble you all! It's just a minor injury, and I'll recover quickly...” Allen didn't finish his sentence before he heard Ranita's soft laughter. Annoyed, he said, "Sister-in-law, please don't laugh at me! It was my fault this time..."

Allen used to play around a lot but was an honest person who couldn't stand sneaky things. He was invited to a club and saw someone harassing a new college student waitress. He kindly helped her out but ended up injuring himself and being sent to the hospital.

“This time you really did something wrong. You got injured yourself and also delayed your brother's project that he put so much effort into..." Seeing Allen looking downcast, Ranita changed the subject, "You should rest well and leave everything to Brendon when he comes.” "Anyway... Brendon definitely won't lose out."

Brendon may be indifferent towards love but he was good at making money.
