"Dylan, I plan to keep the baby, but I want you to help me keep it a secret,” Ranita said when she decided to tell Dylan. Dylan was so happy that he jumped up like a child and exclaimed, "Really? That's great!”

“Just a little black dot, how can you see it as cute?" Ranita couldn't honestly agree with Dylan's words, but Dylan was thrilled to bits.

Ranita couldn't help teasing him, "Someone who doesn't know any better would think you're already a dad!"

"Well, it's not impossible!” Dylan grabbed the report card and suddenly bent over with a grin at Ranita. Dylan and Chris were brothers, but they had different mothers. Dylan looked more like his birth mother - he had slightly southern features with small facial features and fair skin that didn't show his age much. Even though Dylan was three years older than her, Ranita always felt they were the same age.

"Since we're both single, why don't we raise a child together?" Dylan asked tentatively, leaving Ranita stunned for a moment.

"Dylan, don't be ridiculous!" Ranita laughed off the awkwardness between them - she and Dylan were just friends without any romantic feelings.

"Don't take it so seriously! I'm just kidding!"
