Ranita took a step back in shock but was held in place by Brendon's skilled hands on her back. He seemed displeased with Ranita's recklessness, “Impulsive.”

"Sorry! You startled me.” Ranita rubbed her fingers together before gently pushing away his hand while looking down at him, "I received Mrs. Stuart's call.”

"You didn't have to come," Brendon said calmly. They had no relationship now; there was no need for Ranita to continue enduring Amiya.

Why did she come? Why endure it all? Wasn't it all for this man in front of her?

Ranita pursed her lips and spoke softly, "Did I cause trouble for you? I'm sorry..."

“Ranita..." Brendon interrupted before Shannon's light laughter came through when they opened the door, "I knew I heard your voice!"

“And Miss Bowman is here too! Come on in!"

Interrupted like that, Brendon didn't continue speaking but gestured for Ranita to enter with him. There were no seats available so standing around wasn't an option either. With lowered eyesight towards Amiya while bidding farewell politely, Ranita said, "Mrs. Stuart, I have already informed Che about everything. If there is nothing else, I will..."

Before finishing what she wanted say, Amiya ordered, "Ranita, give Shannon a cup of hot water.” So, Ranita went outside then brought back a cup of hot water for Shannon.

"Miss Murphy, be careful not burn yourself.” As Shannon bent down slightly, Ranita felt like something brushed past unintentionally causing boiling hot water spill onto Ranita’s thigh.
