Hugo nodded.
Since Renee already exposed the truth, he could not hide it any longer. Hence, he could only admit to it. "But," Caleb, Jayden, and the others froze in shock.
Jayden always thought highly of himself and looked down on Hugh.
Since the profit division Hugh proposed was hardly ideal for him, he was appalled by Hugh.

"Grandpa, it's not that I didn't want to tell you, but Mister Wolf didn't let me. Besides, I've hinted countless times that Hugh is extremely close with Mister Wolf. You just listened to Uncle and attempted to profit more without giving Mister Wolf any respect," Hugo smiled with resignation.
"Well," Caleb and the elders were all rendered speechless as Hugo was merely telling the truth. Hugo reminded them about it multiple times and tried his best to convince them to accept the profit division Leon proposed.
However, they were all under Jayden's influence and attempted to get more out of the deal.
In the end, the relationship between the Morrisons and Cynthion Group soured and they came close to losing the opportunity.
This was hardly Hugo's fault.
"Jayden, look at what you've done! It's a good thing that Renee told US the truth in time. Otherwise, the Morrisons would be doomed!" Caleb snapped out of it and glared at Jayden.
The other elders were all frustrated as well. Manipulated by Jayden, they started supporting him and even tried to go around Hugh to reach out to Leon.
If Renee did not appear in time and told the truth about Hugh, they would have acted following Jayden's plan. Once that happened, Loen would give up on the Morrisons and decide to work with the Dagleshs instead. It was no exaggeration to say that Jayden's idea almost cost them the partnership with Cynthion Group.
Instantly, Caleb and the elders were all glaring daggers at Jayden.
