He called Leon earlier and Leon merely mentioned that he was on his way. Not a word was mentioned about him reaching an agreement with the Morrisons.

He did not know why Leon was late, but based on what he knew about Leon, Leon was not a proud or rude person. Hence, he assumed that Leon was likely caught up in something.

"Who knows? He's probably playing hard to get because he knows that we want something from him. He is trying to exercise his authority here," Candice said angrily.

She already heard from Elder Daglesh and Jensen that the Dagleshs wished to work with Leon and that Leon was the chairman of Cynthion Group.

Leon was late to his meeting with the Dagleshs and she assumed he was trying to emotionally manipulate the Dagleshs so that he could profit more from the deal.

There were plenty of cunning, despicable people in the business world and she assumed that Leon was one of them.

She could not think of any other reason for him to be late.

"Candice, enough with your nonsense! Mister Wolf is a reasonable man. Given his age, he's incredibly talented and couldn't possibly be the type of person you imagine him to bel" Elder Daglesh reprimanded. "Il-" Candice wanted to argue but dared not to defy Elder Daglesh. She could only swallow her words but remained annoyed, clearly upset that Elder Daglesh praised Leon.

She did not know much about Leon and merely heard from Jensen that Leon was the chairman of a pharmaceutical firm.

She had no clue as to how powerful Leon's alchemical pills were, nor was she aware that Leon was already in the Almighty State despite his age, making him much more powerful than the likes of Hugo and Felton.

If she knew all these, she would have understood why Elder Daglesh praised Leon so much.
