“Very well, then I’ll express my gratitude in advance on behalf of my dad!” Aurelia’s voice was filled with appreciation as she sensed the sincerity in Jacob’s assurance. A joyful smile immediately illuminated her face. 

It might be a bit too early to pull strings for her father at this stage. However, recognizing the importance of being proactive even though the new situation in Navarre had not yet fully materialized, Aurelia believed it was wise to make preparations in advance rather than scrambling at the last minute. 

Moreover, with the bond that had formed between Aurelia and Jacob, it seemed only natural to leverage certain resources when the need arose. If Aurelia refrained from asking for anything at all, Jacob would actually feel uneasy. 

As expected, as soon as Aurelia finished speaking, a joyful smile instantly spread across Jacob’s countenance. “There’s no need for that. I’m not doing this for your dad; I’m doing it for you.” 

In reality, Jacob was fully aware that his willingness to help Aurelia and win her over by leveraging the current situation had its own motives. He knew that Aurelia, too, must have had her own thoughts and considerations in her heart. 

However, he truly couldn’t bear to let go of this woman. Whether it was her amorousness in bed or her composed and experienced demeanor in dealing with others, Jacob found himself deeply attracted to her. 

Especially since Jacob had another concern, which was the attitude and reaction of Hayden’s side in this matter.

Especially when he thought about how Hayden might have strong feelings for Aurelia but she had already become someone else’s woman filled Jacob with joy. 

This allowed Jacob, who held a slightly lower position in terms of identity and status compared to Hayden, to regain a sense of equilibrium in the realm of romance. 

Of course, Jacob didn’t want Aurelia to know about these unsettling thoughts, nor did he want her to find out. 

On the contrary, since he had managed to win Aurelia over through a combination of persuasion and force, from a man’s perspective, he hoped that this relationship, which started due to his influence, would gradually develop along a positive trajectory as they became more familiar with each other through their interactions. 

In simpler terms, although Jacob might have won Aurelia over through coercion, he didn’t want their romantic relationship to be one–sided, with one party being infatuated while the other reluctantly went along with it. He aspired for their relationship. to evolve into a mutually supportive and genuine bond, where both he and Aurelia desired and supported each other wholeheartedly. 

Jacob yearned for Aurelia’s genuine approval and hoped that over time, she would come to rely on him wholeheartedly. 

It was because of this that Jacob felt incredibly happy when he saw Aurelia beaming at him with relief and joy written all over her face when he’d agreed to help her with Michael’s matter. 

This was a signal that marked a positive and promising beginning. 

Sensing his joy, Aurelia graciously reciprocated his gesture with a smile, and the dinner proceeded in a harmonious atmosphere. 

When the dinner finally came to an end an hour later, there was an air of natural familiarity between the two of them. 

Aurelia didn’t stay in the same hotel but in another one. After dinner, she prepared to return to her own hotel. 

Although Jacob was eager to spend the night together and deepen their connection, he considered that Aurelia was not an ordinary woman without her own opinions. Moreover, now that she carried the label of being his woman, there was still a long journey ahead of them. Therefore, he decided not to rush things at the moment. 

He walked out of the private room and made a phone call before returning inside. With a smile, Jacob helped Aurelia put on her coat, just like a proper gentleman. 

“The car will be here shortly. I’ll send you back,” Jacob offered. 

“It’s all right. I can take a taxi back by myself. Besides, it’s not far.” Aurelia shook her head gently, declining his offer. Being well aware of the importance of maintaining a low profile, she instinctively refused any ostentatious gestures that could draw attention to herself. 

However, Jacob had his own considerations. He reached out and held her hand, saying, “Aurelia, we’re in Xandenia now. From here on out, just listen to me and allow me to take care of everything for you.” 

“All right. I’ll go with what you say, but Jacob, could you please give me some time to adjust to our relationship? I don’t want to attract any unwanted attraction…” Aurelia was not exactly straightforward with her words, but Jacob understood her intention. 

“I understand, Don’t worry. Besides my secretary, Marco, I won’t go around telling other people about our relationship until you’re ready to assume the identity of my woman in public. Is that okay with you?” asked the man. 

Aurelia pursed her lips. “Thank you.” 

“Let’s not say such things in the future. When you thank me, it makes me feel like you don’t really intend to see yourself as my woman. Since I’ve chosen you and you’ve become mine, the word ‘thank you‘ shouldn’t exist between us,” he expressed firmly. 

Aurelia glanced at Jacob, without uttering a word. A long while after, she nodded in silent agreement, indicating her acceptance of his words. 

The truth was, Aurelia found herself with little choice but to accept the situation at hand due to Jacob’s resolute demeanor. After all, in this world, there were many men who, when deeply infatuated with their partners, would spare no effort to fulfill
