Jacob’s resentment was evidently deep–rooted, and the interrogation lasted for several hours without any pause. 

Aurelia, though “punished” severely and physically drained, felt no impact on her central nervous system, which transmitted feelings of excitement and pleasure. 

Indeed, sex proved to be the best way to relax the nerves. 

After the conquest had finally subsided, both of them were drenched in sweat and had no desire to move. Jacob lazily slid his fingers across her face and asked, “Did anyone say anything to you while I was drunk?”

Isn’t that putting me in a difficult position? What do you want to hear from me? Do you want me to say that I actually like you a lot? Jacob, you’re a grown man and a smart person. If I were to say that, would you believe it? Besides. Jacob, with your pride, can you tolerate a woman who is not being frank and honest in front of you?”
