Chapter Two – Alone Together

It is eight o’clock and I have finally finished work for the day.

I will follow my usual routine. Make a great show of picking up some food from the pack kitchen for dinner and then heading to my room. I will then slip out of the packhouse, careful to make sure I am not seen and make my way to Katy’s house.

The only thing keeping me going through the day is thinking of her. Reliving the time, we spend together. The taste of her as I kiss every part of her body, the pleasure we both feel when I am deep inside her, the look on her face when I bring her to orgasm. It makes me hard every time I think about it.

Then there are the things that surprise me about her. It is getting late, and I know that Alex will be here soon.

I have put Emma to bed, read her a bedtime story and held her until she fell asleep.

I can’t wait to see him; the day feels so long when I am apart from him. I crave his touch. When I am with him, he makes me forget my sadness and grief and makes me feel whole.

It surprises me how quickly I have moved from hating him as the arrogant alpha whose actions hurt me, to him being the person I love the most in the world and cannot bear to be away from.

“No” he says determinedly “we will continue to hunt them down. Euan has informants among the rogues and is using these contacts to gather intelligence. We won’t give up. No one attacks our pack and gets away with it.”

“How is Emma?” he asks.

I sigh “the same. I can’t seem to reach her, and I don’t know what to do next.”

“It will take time, she has been through a lot, but she will get there. You might not feel like you are helping but you are. You just need to be there for her” he says reassuringly.
