Dorothée wanders around Little Wood Village looking for Ijimicko. She can’t find him, however, and she gets worried.

“Ijimicko! Ijimicko! Where are you?!” Dorothée asks.

“I saw him leave the village quite a while ago... He left early in the morning and hasn’t returned yet,” another village girl tells Dorothée.

“Why would he go alone? Without telling anyone...?” Dorothée asks. sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ FɪndNovᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

The other girl shrugs her shoulders.

“He went north-west,” the girl says.

“Did he now?” Dorothée asks.

“Yep,” the girl says.

“The Town of Rules is up that way...” Dorothée says.

“Oh! Maybe he has gone to buy tea! I hear Rule Tea is the best!” the girl says.

“I’m suspecting something else... A plot!” Dorothée says.

“Hmm... Or tea...” the girl says.

“Ijimicko doesn’t drink tea,” Dorothée says.

“He will once he tastes Rule Tea,” the girl says.

Dorothée sighs and heads off in the direction Ijimicko went.

“Get me some Rule Tea while you are there!” the girl says.

“Fine, Bethany!” Dorothée says and walks off.

“Best. Tea. Ever,” Bethany squeals.

Dorothée walks to Town of Rules by night time.

“Ijimicko, are you here?” Dorothée asks, wandering the dark streets.

The slaves are all tucked away in their sheds and all the humans are in bed. There is no sign of Ijimicko, of course. Dorothée gets an uncomfortable feeling that she is being watched.

“Mew,” a little voice calls.

“Iji?” Dorothée asks, turning around quickly.

Very faintly, Dorothée can make out the shape of a kitten behind her.

“Oh! A kitten! How cute!” Dorothée says.

The kitten purrs and wraps itself around her legs. She stoops to pick up the kitten.

“I don’t see kittens around here very often...” Dorothée says.

“I am death,” the kitten whispers to Dorothée.

Dorothée freaks out and quickly puts the kitten down.

“What’s wrong?” the kitten asks.

“You can speak and you said you are death!” Dorothée says.

“Miss Fabian. Why are you so far away?” the kitten asks.

“You are freaking me out!” Dorothée says, “I never even told you my last name!”

“Oh? That’s your name? I’m just calling you that because you are a bean,” the kitten says.

“Okay, that’s enough!” another voice calls.

The Monster shows up and picks up the kitten.

“I’m sorry ma’am. He’s a bit weird,” The Monster says.

“I shouldn’t be out so late...” Dorothée says.

“So why are you?” The Monster asks, giving Dorothée a mean look.

“I...I was on my way to find a friend and fellow villager of mine,” Dorothée says.

“His name? Did it start with the letter I?” The Monster asks.

“Yes... How did you know?!” Dorothée asks, backing away.

“I know a lot of things, Dorothée Fabian...” The Monster says.

“That’s it! I’m out of here!” Dorothée says.

She runs as fast as she can as far away from The Monster as she can.

“Creepy people... No wonder my mother doesn’t usually let me go anywhere alone...” Dorothée says.

She sighs and sits on a rock in the Snyvolon Field.

“And still no sign of Ijimicko...” Dorothée says.
