The Girl Called Trouble
Trouble Has Enough

"Let the court session begin. Let hear the opening statements." The judge says. I listen as the court is shown multiple pieces of evidence. There are multiple people being tried at the same time. I don't know most of the people. I recognize Frank as he is brought in wearing handcuffs.

"You are being charged with the rape and manslaughter of a seven year old boy named James. How do you plead?" The judge asks.

"I plead guilty, your honor." I here as he makes his statement.

"We ask for leniency, your honor, Frank has been very helpful in this case and expresses remorse." The lawyer states.

"Your sentence will be decided at a later date." the judge answers. He goes through what seems like a hundred people. Some plead guilty, some plead no contest. The mother and the father both plead innocent along with five others.

I feel my phone vibrate and look at the screen.

"It isn't right that you don't think you have to do as I say."I read her text and think of a response.

"Just because you tell me to do something doesn't mean that I am going to listen. I need to come over and pick up the rest of my things."I know I cannot give into her.

"Are you going to show me your bank account?" What does she really think? Who would do that. I am getting beyond angry this time.

"No. I just want the rest of my belongings." I really am tired of this.

"Well that isn't going to work. You can not come back until you show me your bank account." I laugh when I read this. I won't be going back to her nonsense.

"I won't be doing that. You need to let me get the rest of my stuff and leave." I should just block her.

"Don't you feel sorry for me?" Really? Who on earth would feel sorry for her? She creates so many of her own problems.

"Not really. You chose to act the way you did. I don't even feel sorry for myself." Why should I? I don't pity anyone. Every person has good and bad things happen to them.

"That just means that you don't love me." Manipulation at its finest! This is getting old fast.

"The two things have nothing to do with each other." Not that I feel anything but anger towards her at this point.

"It isn't fair that you always get to be the victim! I want to be the victim too sometimes!" Okay, so you just want people to feel sorry for you? How are you a victim of anything?

"What does that have to do with anything?" This conversation has gotten completely off topic. I just wanted to pick up the rest of my stuff.

"It just isn't fair!" I finally just block her. I will try again in a few days.

"Let the court call the witness Ceres." I do what I am instructed to and walk to the podium.

"Please tell us how you are related to the pastor." The prosecutor says.

"I don't know." I say calmly.

"What do you remember about living in the village?" He asks.

"I lived in a cellar. I would sometimes be brought food. I don't remember anything else." I answer

"How did you get out of the cellar?"

"The father came down and dragged me outside to kill me." I answer.

"Objection." I hear from the other side.

"I want to hear what the witness has to say." The judge answers.

"How do you know your father wanted to kill you?"

"He told the people in the village to throw rocks at me because I am a demon. I was supposed to be sacrificed." The trial went on and I answered questions until we talked about the clearing. S~ᴇaʀᴄh the Find ɴøᴠel.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

"What happened when you were at the clearing?"

"I watched the woman who calls herself my mother drag a girl into the clearing in her underwear. My father then said that the village had to sacrifice the innocence of the children because they failed to kill me. The men then bid on the children and paid the father before leaving the clearing with the child." I answer.

The trial continued until the woman came up. When she did, she started screaming. "It was that girls fault! She is a demon born child, who possessed all of us! People died because of her! She should have died that day!" It was the last thing I heard her say before I was escorted out of the room.

The father had fifteen years to life in jail. Even though he orchestrated everything. He did not actually participate in any of it. Several other people received years in jail. The mother ended up being sent to a mental hospital where she would be released once she was deemed fit for society.

I was sent to a foster home on the other side of the country, in hopes that I could start a new life away from my so called family. However, the problems I faced in foster care were just as hard as the things I had already been through.

I decided to unblock Hera after a week in hope that she would be easier to deal with after she had some time to calm down.

"I don't know why you are being so mean to me! I have more money now. You should come back." She says to me.

"We are not even friends at this point." I answer

"All you have to do is give me what I want!" Hear says

"I'm done. I am not putting up with this any longer." I then blocked her again. Some things are just supposed to end like this.
