"You don't blame me this time?"

Parker went into the ward and looked at Amelia, who looked a little older than she was in his memory, and her hair got grayer. Perhaps because of her illness, she had lost a lot of weight and looked very haggard.

However, she seemed to be in good spirits, which made Parker feel relieved.

"Why didn't the person I sent tell me about this?"

Parker was angry. If he had known earlier, he would have come back earlier.

Perhaps, he wouldn't have met Meredith so late.

"I didn’t let him tell you." Actually, Amelia had told the man, but it looked like something went wrong.

Now, Amelia didn't want to pursue that matter, so she patched up a lie.

"How are you now?"

Parker asked her with concern.

Amelia shook her head. After going through so many things, she went easy on death and wasn't afraid of the day coming.

However, she was concerned about her daughter.

She would not die in peace without making sure that Meredith found a good husband.

"How come? Can we do anything about it?"

Hearing Parker's words of concern, Amelia smiled, "I asked you to come here not because I wanted to discuss my illness with you. I want to ask you if you still have feelings for Mer right now." Amelia was so explicit that Parker was stunned.

However, he quickly replied, "My feelings for her have never changed.”

Hearing this, Amelia nodded. She felt that Parker was a very reliable man. He did not abandon Meredith even when Meredith was at her most difficult time.

Although he did not have a strong family background as Derek did, he fought his way up all by himself. He was outstanding and trustworthy, and she was willing to entrust her daughter to him. "I don't know how long I can live, so I asked you here. I hope you can take care of Mer, protect her and let her live happily for the rest of her life."
