I immediately stood up. My heartbeat was erratic and my jaw was slack.

My eyes gazed at the beast in front of me, several feet away. A few ladies working in the packhouse had fainted at the look of his beast.

So big and majestic but scary.

My Beta had taken a step back but my Gamma was the brave one. I didn't even know when he had grasped my wrist.

"When I say 'Run', you run." My Gamma mumbled to me at which, my erasthai roared. A feeling erupted in my core and my body shivered.

I can't believe that the horny female inside me was turned on at the fact that our erasthai was angry.

The beast of my erasthai had his claws extended to their full length as he watched my Gamma holding me with anger exceeding limits.

Darius saw him as a threat.

"Gamma, let me go. He doesn't like the fact that you are holding me. Let go!" I whispered in nervousness to the guy beside me but he just tightened his grip.

This man wanted to die today!

Darius' beast saw it.

"Run!" My Gamma let my hand go as my mate ran towards me. I ran towards the back door - expecting weight to fall over me any second - but something nagged me when no one stopped me.

I turned my head back to see that my Gamma was on the ground with my mate on top of him.

Ready to rip his throat out.

Just what I feared.

I was about to shout at Darius when a blur appeared and stopped beside Darius' beast grabbing his hand that was ready to insert its claws in my Gamma's throat.

A howl resounded behind me that terrified me and I got goosebumps. I turned my head again - big mistake - only to find Darius, who was only a few feet behind me.

A wooden log came in my way but I jumped over it easily and continued to run.

That was until a giant headache came over me and I stopped while holding my head, it seemed that Darius failed to stop because his body crashed into me.

The impact making me groan but just when I was about to reach the ground, Darius turned us over.

He cushioned my fall.

I felt him shift back to human under me as I still had my eyes closed at the aching headache.

A whimper escaped me as the headache only increased.

"Ahh," It hurt like a bitch. One second I am running and the next, I am dropped to the ground with a pounding headache.

I felt myself getting slowly laid down on the snowy ground and then a worried voice reaching, all the anger was long forgotten.

"Hey, Love? Are you okay? Look at me, look at me, Love." A hand comes up on to my cheek, softly caressing it - the headache decrease by a bit.

That was the moment when I realized.

"It's sta-rting," I say really slowly while opening my eyes and looking at my mate's still bright golden eyes.

His wolf was still over the edge.

He looks at me confused and then looks up at the sky that was still hidden by the thick trees of the forest.

The headache starts to go away and a sigh escapes my lips.

I don't know if Darius understood what I meant or not but he picked me up bridal style and started walking.

Nausea feeling comes over me and I fight the overwhelming urge to throw up.

At that moment, I wanted nothing more than to lay in bed with peace and quiet, something to stop this feeling that I was feeling.

"I will walk," I say with finality in my tone but my words fall on deaf ears. I get no response that just ticks me off even more.

But I let it slide. For now because in the end, I was going to make his life a living hell that he would wish to die himself.

My wolf growl inside of me but I ignore her.

A small whiff and my people's scent hit me and I realize that we were back home.

"What did you do to her?" I hear the angry voice of my Gamma and I inhale sharply.

I felt my mate growl in annoyance.

"Give way, Wolf." That Wolf had a threat hidden in it but of course, my Gamma didn't care. I don't know why but he was really protective of me - so much so that it made me feel as if he was my brother.

"I will not allo-" I exhale and raise my quivering hand up slightly. I have never felt so weak in my entire life!

"Gamma, please. Not now." I only whisper that much before the nauseating feeling gets the best of me and a surge of energy flows through me.

I jump out of my mate's arms - who is just as startled - and rush the bin to puke everything I had in my stomach out.

Immediately large palms start rubbing my back and I hiss at another feeling of nausea pushing through me.

Once I am sure that I am not going to get another feeling of nausea, I pulled away from the bin and lean against the wall - Darius still knelt beside me. The energy I had a while ago was now completely gone.

I knew Darius was naked beside me - stark naked and it seemed as if he didn't care but I did so I did my best to not look at him - I felt too sick to give off an emotion at the moment.

"What is wrong with her?" My Gamma asked. Is he really that dumb?

"Ah, you wolves lack knowledge as well!-" I knew Darius was going to say something really rude so I jumped in before he could complete his sentence.

I mean, Darius was ticked off but it definitely doesn't mean that he could annoy others around him too.

"My heat is starting."

Darius pulled me in his arms once again and start to walk away - I do not question, I look over his shoulder to see my Gamma's jaw slack.

I sighed again.

Darius walked into a random room and laid me on the bed, my eyes were still closed and he fixed the sheets over me.

"I will ask Avalon to bring a doctor, Don't move." Where was I going to go anyway? I could tell that Darius was losing his marbles by the second.

He was losing his calm - all because of my heat. It had already started affecting him. Probably more than it affected me at the moment because I noticed, he tried not to speak much. His growl escaping his mouth every time a guy came close.

For example my Gamma.

I didn't let his flickering and twitching of eyes slide. His wolf was on the edge and it was evident by his still glowing golden eyes.

"Darius," I say with my eyes still closed, "Please put on a pair of pants first." I was feeling a lot better now after laying on the bed.

But it was only the start and it was going to get worse than this. I probably had an hour more before the excruciating pain would make itself known.
