He knew I wanted distance, so he stayed a little back. At a safe distance from where he could keep an eye on me as well as give me space.

I did not regard it anyhow. I knew that if I did ask him to stop following me or go away, he would not follow through with it so I let him do what he thought was right.

He was not going to leave me alone but I was grateful for the space he was giving me, Even if it was only a few feet.

When I grew closer to the pack house, I noticed my pack members were gathered around my Beta and Gamma.

I walked faster - as much as I could - and tried to focus on what my Beta was saying.

"Calm down everyone! We will find them and Intruders." Intruders?

No one listened to him and kept chattering and panicking, well that was until my Gamma stepped forward,

"Calm down!" His voice boom through the people and everyone stops at once.

An Alpha.

"Our Alpha! Where is she!?" One of the pack members chimed with her fist on her heart.

My heart warmed at her worry for me.

"We will find her as well-"

"Beta! Gamma! What is happening here?" My loud voice pulled all the attention, including the pack members who immediately took a step back after taking me on - or more precisely, the beast behind me.

I sighed, I could do nothing about him.

He was like my personal bodyguard here.

I diverted my attention back to my second and third in command.

They were both looking at each other and then finally nodded before looking back at me.

"Two more females have been taken-" I clenched my fists, "- We had found activity near the northern border."

I was about to say more when my Gamma spoke,

"That's not all-" he glanced behind me, probably at Darius before looking back at me, "- The shed where you were staying was destroyed to ashes by those Intruders."

A growl resounded behind me before I could've gotten a word out, an arm snaked around my waist and I was pulled in his chest.

I went banshee.

"Let me the fuck go! Why are you doing this!?" I somehow managed to push him away after countless punching and thrashing - and a glare to him which made his eyebrows furrow - and looked back at my men who stared at Darius.

Darius had let me go but was still standing protectively, really close.

People watched me - at how out of character I was - and my bottoms that were covered in blood.

"We have to do something," I mumbled and walked into the packhouse, ignoring everyone else.

I had to get rid of these clothes first.

Locking the door of the room - so a specific Lycan would not be able to get in -, I quickly changed into another set of clothes that consisted of a shirt with a zip-up hoodie on top, skinny jeans, and some boots because my feet were frozen.

My stupid self ran barefoot from the shed but at that time I did not care as I was in too much pain already.

When I was done, I finally stepped out of my room and walked down the stairs.

Now I had to figure something out about the missing pack members.

I stopped walking at the conversation that was being passed between my two trusted men and my mate.

"She is not safe here. She doesn't see it but we have and I hope you do too! She acts like a man that she is no-" My Beta was cut off by my Gamma.

"What he means is that she can control this pack very well but she does not see the threat that puts her due to this. Females are being kidnapped from every pack - strong and unmated - and this destruction of the shed - she was in - was no coincidence."

My jaw dropped. What the fuck! How could they?

"You have to take her away from here! Promise us you will take care of her."

Before Darius could respond, I intervened with murder written all over my face.

"You fucking bastards!" I landed a good punch on my Beta's face, causing it to snap to the side.

"How could you? And you!" I looked at my Gamma, sorry written all over his face, "I - I have no words to tell you how I feel right now! You want me to be a coward Alpha and leave you all alone."

My eyebrows knotted in disappointment.

"You -" I was about to punch him too but my mate had grabbed me and pulled me into his chest. Sparks stronger than the time before the heat.

"Calm down!" He hissed in my ear but I did not want to.

"Let me go, let me punch hi-"

"You won't be a coward if you leave! That is the only sensible thing, Freya. You have to go." My Gamma said and I was baffled at his words.

"How could you?" I whispered - that was the only thing I could say - with hurt written all over my face.

That hurt turned to anger again and I started to thrash in my mate's hold.

"Go." My Gamma muttered and my mate followed.

He took me screaming and thrashing out of my own packhouse with my pack members staring at me.

Not once did Darius stopped. I told him to stop, to let me go back, to not make me leave but he did not listen.

"I cannot put you in harm's way for a pack that is not in danger. Their real Alpha is there with them. They will be safe."

"I am the Alpha!" I shouted but his grip on me just tightened.

"You are a Queen, my Queen."
