Chapter Twenty-six

Clayton.

It's been a week already since Leila heard about what happened to her biological mother and she has been having nightmares about that night. Her mother's eyes when she left her under that fallen log of wood to protect her were hunting her.

I take it that knowing what took place that night has created feelings of helplessness, hurt, guilt, and gratitude towards her mother. Most guilt. Because of her, her mother had been weakened to the point of having her Pack destroyed.

I see her hurt demeanor when she thinks I'm not looking and it's killing me. She puts up a blockage in our mate bond every time she is down, just like right now and I have to do something about it. The faster the better.

An idea pops into my mind and I smile making my way towards my mate hoping she will adhere to my plan.

"Hey baby, what are you cooking? It smells delicious," I ask rounding the counter and pulling her to me so her back is pressed to my chest.

Goosebumps break on her skin at our skin contact and she lets a slight moan slip through her parted lips.

"I'm making spaghetti Bolognese," she responds breathily as I kiss and nib at her neck and shoulder.

"Baby, I was thinking..." I start running my hands over her soft skin.

"Hmmm, yes..." She moans trying to concentrate on the pot she has on the stove.

"I want us to go meet my family. I want them to meet you and get to know you. They know I have a mate, and mom has been boggling me to bring you to come meet them. They will never set foot here," I say that last part laughing.

" Not because they find werewolves beneath them or anything, they just don't want the trouble of having to morph so they can be here. They like their freedom too much," I finish and Leila has joined me in the laughter at this point.

"I can imagine that. The great Duke and duchess of the Kingston palace in a werewolf Pack... My goodness, it's something I'll pay good money to see," she says laughing so hard tears stream down her cheeks.

I smile at the sight of her laughing and puff a bit because she has removed the blockage she had put in our mate bond. I just have to make sure she continues laughing every day of our lives.

I told her about my family. I showed her some pictures and yes, you guessed right, the embarrassing baby pictures too. But her seeing them had nothing to do with me and everything to do an annoying brat whose neck I'll have to squeeze when next we meet, my younger sister, Cassie.

She and Leila have been communicating and I was happy with the sister bond they have formed. Leila always had this mischievous look in her eyes each time they spoke and I won't lie that I'm a bit worried that Cassie's influence on my innocent mate was going to give me material I'm guessing I won't like to work with.

The person dealing with this new behavior is mostly Chase. I giggle as his horror filled face pops into my mind each time I tell him his Luna needs him, or even when her name is mentioned in a conversation.

Over all those dramatic reactions I know he loves her like an older brother. That was bound to happen given all the mess they usually got in. Either she dragged him along, or he was called to deal with the aftermath of things. I was happy I was given the sweet part of her. Ready, sweet, creamy, and moaning... Just like right now as I grab her perky boobs in my hands massaging slowly.

She moans, wiggling her ass on my hard-on. It was difficult for us to touch and not fuck. It's a fact.

"If this food burns, I'm going to feed you with the whole thing," she threatens still moaning and I stop.

"How long will we be gone for?" She asks chewing her bottom lips.

"I was thinking we could take it as a long vacation. Maybe a year or two," I say and see her eyes going wide at my words.

"We will leave the Pack for two years?" She asks incredulously. She loves this place, and have adopted every Pack member as her family so I know it will be hard for her at first. I also know it is what she needs.

"Baby look... Chase and Ruben are more than capable of taking care of things here. Chase is as strong as any normal Alpha wolf. If I wasn't here, he would have been the Alpha. I'm sure they will be just fine. If there is anything administrative, they can always email me and I'll take care of it. I just need us to get away for some time. Don't you want to know the other side of you?" I ask and she is deep in thoughts.

After an agonizing long silence, she finally agrees and I give her a dazzling smile. I can still see the war raging in her head over the issue. Her emotions are so clear to me.

"We're going to have so much fun..." I say kissing her.

"Oh, I know I'm going to have fun... Let me call Cassie ASAP," she says as if she just thought of something and I know for a fact that I'm not going to like it. Nope. No one bit.

I sigh as I follow after her, forcing down the impending headache that is brewing in my head.

Shit.

"Honey, don't forget your Bolognese," I shout out to my now jumping mate. As much as I feel anxiety creeping in at what they are planning, I'm happy to see her this bobbly.

"Never..." That is the response I get.

When I finally get to the room, I find Leila laying on the floor with her phone pressed to her ear, giggling and saying how great and how she can't wait to the other person on the phone, which I guess is none other than Cassie.

I need to call Mike, Cassie's mate, and prepare a contre-attaque.

I won't be the next Chase. I refuse! I shudder as I think about all her mischieves. Nope, not happening. I shake my head trying to clear my thoughts from the images appearing left, right, and center.
