Chapter Thirty-two

Leila.

Violetta, Lorenzo's mate and I laugh as we see Lorenzo grovel for her. I smirk and give him a wink to which he only grumbles.

Violetta was making him pay for all the hate and bombastic criminal side eyes she was receiving from half the female population in school.

His man whoring days were over and gave way to a heated monogamous relationship. I had never seen Lorenzo look so miserable over the year that I've known him.

My mom was not any easy on my father, Archer. She made him sweat so much, it was hilarious witnessing them go at it. It was weird at first having parents who looked like we were siblings. They are now mated for the greatest pleasure and peace of mind of all. We were already all having a headache with Archer constantly involving us in his groveling.

The difference between Mom and Violetta is that Mom wasn't making Dad pay for sleeping with almost half the female population on the planet, but she was somehow angry at him for not finding her sooner. I get up and head in, leaving the group to go to Clayton who was on a business call.

The creature that results from this fusion is big, large, and scary. His fur is thick, midnight black with flecks of white on his back. He is taller than Zeus and a hundred times stronger.

Clayton and I suddenly have like an out-of-body experience... We are standing in our human form out of the beast in front of us. I turn to look at Clayton, but he is looking at me with shock and confusion. I look at myself, and I realize that I am transparent.

We are like spirits.

Clayton and I turn on alert when we hear a voice clear behind us.

Standing there in a form like ours is a man seemingly in his sixties or so. He smiles at me and there is just something familiar about him.

"Finally, you are here Leila," he says calling me by my name and I gasp. Does he know me? Is he a threat? Clayton feels my distress and comes closer. He is tense, ready to fight whatever this is. The beast behind us roars and the ground shakes like a mini earthquake.

I tremble in fear as I turn and look at the beast now standing behind us. Where were Leone and Zeus? What happened to them?

"Relax Leila. I'm not here to hurt you or your mate. My name is Henry. I'm your great grandfather," my head snapped to the name at the sound of his voice, but my eyes went wide at who he was.

He laughs at my expression and makes a sneaky remark and I can't help the grumble that leaves my breath. What is it with these powerful beings looking nothing like what I imagined them to be? First, it was the royal family, and now the ever-first werewolf.

He laughs even harder when he sees my narrowed eyes in annoyance.

"What is going on?" I ask crossing my arms over my chest.

"You are the promise the moon goddess made me a long time ago," he says, his face turning serious. There you go... See? It wasn't that difficult to look like an ancient being.

"What do you mean by that?" I ask confused.

"I am the first werewolf the moon goddess created. She made me as strong as her firstborns, the Lycans. She gave me many gifts as she was pleased with me. She was so pleased that she created other werewolves, the only problem is that, werewolves turned out to be vicious and greedy. They started killing other creatures to take their possessions, fighting even amongst themselves. Every battle resulted in a carnage. Imagine all that power released unabashed in nature or against weaker species." He paused and sighed gravely and my heart ached for all the poor souls that suffered during that time. His count takes me back to the Colorado Pack and I shudder at the thought of them having this kind of power.

"To punish the werewolves for their misconduct, the Moon goddess stripped their powers to the bare minimum with the strongest becoming what is known today as Alpha's. Since I was the only werewolf who never took part in that, she promised that she would make a new species from my descendants. She would choose one of my descendants and give him or her the ability to form a new species, and I was to appear in their subconscious mind to explain what I am now," he says, and I just stand there looking at him. I am passed trying to understand all he is saying. I think I've lost some brain cells in the process.

"What does this new species entail?" Clayton asks seeing how speechless and lost I look.

"Well, I guess you've noticed that Leila was different. She was different from ordinary werewolves. Up until now, you all attributed that difference to her being a hybrid, which is not completely wrong, but not true at the same time. The difference stems from within, from the new blood in her. You have noticed she doesn't respond to anyone, not even the Lycan King," he says, and we nod. We've noticed that all too well. The day that happened, the King studied me like a lab rat. He calmed down only when I surrendered to him. But it was at will, not because of his dominance over me.

"Now turn around and look at the new beast that has just seen the day. The first of his kind. Bigger, stronger, faster than any creature so far. As big as he is, he can wipe his presence completely by shutting out his energy and his movements are imperceptible. He doesn't have the vulnerability of other species which are the mates... You kill a Lucan's mate, you kill the Lycan... You kill a werewolf's mate, you weaken him even further. Here, both mates are protected in their common beast. If Leila you were to shift, and your mate wasn't by your side, his body will dissociate into thin air wherever he is to meet you, and you will only separate once you shift back and vice versa. You can't undergo metamorphosis like Lycans but energy control is a basics for him. He is at both your commands, but he will respond more to you Leila," he says, and my head is spinning with all the information he is letting on.

"Oh yes, one last thing... He is immortal. Only another immortal being can venture into trying to take him down," he says in a rush before vanishing into the night.
